As far as I remember, the technique Tien uses against Nappa before his death was made with only one hand. Then again, it's literally been over a year since I last saw that fight scene, so I could have forgotten.
And yeah, I completely forgot about him using it to deflect Buu's attack. I guess I forgot because Tien's time in the Buu saga probably clocked up at around 3 minutes total

Seriously, the Earth is being torn apart and he's no where to be seen. Tien's inclusion to the Buu saga seemed more of an afterthought then anything else, almost like Toriyama just forgot about him.

No you're right Tealsmith. He did do the attack with one hand, because if you remember, his other one had been cut off earlier.

Goku reaches SSj3 ... GT is fantasy and doesnt exist in the normal DB DBZ timeline. GT can be considered as an alternative timeline, just like movies.

Oh yeah, that's right, I knew he only used one hand, but I forgot it was because he didn't even HAVE another one...
Just you wait until it grows back!
Always good for a laugh

That's BS. In terms of the anime, GT is officially what happens after Z, it isn't a 'What If' story like all the movies are. Like it or not, 'Grand Tour' is officially the continuation of Goku's journey, regardless of how incredibly stupid and inconsistant it may be. Just because people don't like it, doesn't mean it didn't happen (unfortunatly).

THANK YOU.
I swear, if there's another post made simply to bash GT I'm gonna go fucking nuts.

Heh. I think Tenshinhan could've used his Shiyoken technique to regrow his arm if he had survived the fight against the saiya-jins. I mean, he can grow new arms with that technique, it actually wouldn't be that much of a stretch to use that technique to replace a lost one. Hell, he should've used Shiyoken right away when Nappa was getting ready to attack. If he was really using his head, he should've used Taiyoken and got in some easy shots. Come to think of it, Kuririn could probably use Taiyoken at that point too. He hasn't demonstrated the watch-and-immediately-learn ability Goku has, so he most likely learned it from Tenshinhan while training at Kami's Lookout.

Er... no.
He can only grow arms on his back(just for a short time, it seems).
If he could regrow arms like Piccolo does, he would've done so at the battle in question.

Ooh, there's Goku's move where he thrusts his hand forward so hard it creates a blast of wind
He used that twice, and I think it's a move in one of those SNES RPG games

Do you mean a Kiai?

Actually, I think he's talking about that move he uses against ChiChi in which he punches the air with enough force to cause the wind to blow her back. I would say that could be a form or variation of the Kiai, however. And Kami taught him that; although it's never explicitly explained, Piccolo recognizes that technique as something his "demon folk" use. Well, seeing how Son Goku was training with Kami, it's more likely that technique is something that either Namekians use, or martial artists like Kami.
There's also that one time in which he blasted a hole in the ground for Vegeta's burial with his eyes. Although I wouldn't really call it his own technique...just a variation of the simple kiai or a ki blast.
I was voted "most unique" and "most likely to become the next existential thinker" in high school.

Basically, it's the same move he used against Jeece and Burter. It's even used in Budokai's 2 and 3.

I loved how in early Dragonball, Toriyama actually seemed to like to come up with unique moves. Every character had unique moves that were cool and useful.
During the Freeza saga...I felt like it was the end. Like, "There cannot be any move more powerful than the Genki-Dama". And there wasn't. It was kinda dissapointing.
Random Fact: "If Freeza used a watering can on Piccolo, he would turn into a tree. FACT."

Well, yeah. That was
supposed to be the end, so after Freeza returns from the Genki Dama explosion, it's kind of like "everything I know has failed" and finally Goku is basically forced into becoming a Super Saiyan out of desperation (I wouldn't say it was just anger, since there was still a calmness to him). And, well, there you go, something new! I'd certainly say that Super Saiyan was something new that we'd never seen before... Besides, I couldn't imagine Goku coming up with some wacky or elaborate fighting technique at this point in the story. It wouldn't have suited the atmosphere at all. The end of the Freeza battle was very dark and desperate, at first for Goku, but ultimately for Freeza.
If anything was dissapointing, I'd say it was the Genki Dama against Kid Buu. Although it was cool to have everyone pitch in and lend energy to defeat Buu, I felt that at that point in the story the Genki Dama was getting a little old (even though this is the only time it ever succeeded!).

Don't you all see? That was Goku's most powerful technique. Vegeta even mentions it while watching him fight Majin Buu on the Kaioshin planet. Goku has a natural knack for advancing and learning other moves quickly. That is his greatest ability, it takes almost no effort for him to learn and master new techniques.
Roshi was amazed when he told Goku it took him 50 years to develop and master the Kamehameha. Yet Son learns and uses a small one within mintues of attempts. He even blew up Bulma's car with it!
North Kaio was imensely impressed with Son's speedy mastery of the Genki-dama and Kaioken techniques. He threw a large boulder at Goku and Goku destroyed it with the Genki-dama he created on Kaio's small planet.
Son Goku did develop the Dragonfist out of necessity and desperation to destroy Piccolo Daimao. That is one move he created on his own. Son was also a master of making awesome combonations of techniques:
Against Vegeta - Kaioken x4 + Kamehameha
Against Cell - Instant Transmission + Kamehameha
Many of the characters learn each other's moves and add them to thier own bag of tricks, but none moreso than Son. He doesn't need to create many moves because he already has the largest arsenal. He knows all of the following and more that I am probably not thinking of:
Janken/Rock-Paper-Siccors
Kamehameha
Taiyo-ken/Solar Flare
Kiai (Demon blast move discussed already in this topic)
Kienzen/Destructo disc (Used against Super Buu)
Kaio-ken
Genki-dama/Spirit Bomb
Dragonfist
Instant Transmission
After-image (yes he used it some against Frieza at the end there)
Son was also the -master- of technique variations. Especially the Kamehameha. Think of all the Son Goku created variants (my own names for these variants are used for clairity purposes):
>Directional Kamehameha - Against Raditz - Curved and changed directions with it.
>Boost Kamehamahe - Against Piccolo Junior - Blast fired from feet to propell Son into high speed attack range.
>Dual Kamehameha Timed attacks - Against Frieza - Made two stationary Kamehameha blasts underwater and launched them as distractions to allow him to get the upper hand.
>Spread Kamehameha - Used against Majin Buu - Exploded out in a much wider blast range than the normal focused beam.
No other character has such a mastery and creativeness with thier arsenal. Krillin probably comes close with his Massive break Kienzen. The big one that broke into a bunch of small ones that he used against Frieza's second form and managed to slice his tail off with it. He also created the Double Ki blast (Also called Misty Ki Wave by some sources)that he used once against Piccolo Junior at the 23rd Tournament and later used a variant that exploded into seperate beams that destroyed most of the Saibamen.
Many of the moves used aren't given names when developed or used the first time, but are named later once the move has been perfected and used a second or third time. Such as:
Dragonfist - Developed and used against Piccolo Daimao, but not directly named until Son used it in the movie to Destroy Hildegarn with it.
Final Flash - Vegeta first used this move in a drastic attempt to kill Recoome, but only later perfected it and named it for use against Perfect Cell.
This is a cool discussion. I will be interested in what others have to add to this topic.

Hehe, well, I never said that Son Goku was a bad fighter, his ability to adapt and improve on the spot is impressive indeed.
But it just struck me as funny that he , out of all characters never had a technique to call a "Signature attack"
But agreed, his best weapon is indeed his ability to quickly pick up on things and adapt them to suit his needs.

Actually his signature attack would be the Kamehameha. Although he didn't develop it himself, he did adapt it to his own likings so that it could be considered his own move.
