Haha, Schemmel hated Faulconer's score? He just earned several cool points in my book.

I thought I recalled years ago he said that it was good because it was more "modern", and the original score was "outdated" and "couldn't be taken seriously"? Perhaps it wasn't him, it was never said, or he was saying it because FUNimation told him to? Anyone know what I'm talking about? I know that he is talking about Kai's score here, but I'm referring to how he said he hated Faulconer's music.

Well I finally got around to watching the clips. It really doesn't seem that bad. Even with the obvious clean up on Bardock it's really no big deal. I'll give it a chance, although regardless of how much they do or don't edit I can't see myself watching too much of Kai. I only watched up the the fight with Nappa in Japanese. I just don't see too much point in watching Kai considering I've already watched DBZ to death and this isn't really anything new.

I remember when cartoon network was airing Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Uncut at 10PM, parents still complained and if I recall thats ultimately what got it off the air.

Somehow I doubt the real Sean Schemmel would be badmouthing the dub music. Even if he really dislikes it, it would be pretty unprofessional for him to say something like that on his Facebook.

What does "Canadian music" mean, anyway? Is the theme song being sung by Celine Dion? Or is "Dragon Soul" being covered by Justin Bieber?

I don't recall anyone complaining about the content of Dragon Ball Z: Uncut, except for rumors that somebody at Cartoon Network took offense to the Russian Roulette scene from the Princess Snake filler, and wanted it removed for future airings.

Dragon Ball Z: Uncut did quite well in the ratings department at 10:00 PM, so before the initial run of the 67 episodes had been finished, it was announced that DBZ Uncut would continue to air from the beginning during the Toonami block. However, once it was a few episodes in on the Toonami block, the ratings dropped off during the slow-moving filler, and so CN switched back to the old Ocean tapes for a few episodes to speed it along. Then they went back to FUNi uncut, then went back to Ocean, and then stuck with Ocean for a few more eps before removing it entirely.

Do we know for sure the exact premiere date of Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons? (MM/DD/YYYY)

Also, what time will it be airing at on that day?

In those clips from Nicktoons' website, they seem to be using the original score save for the scene where Bulma arrives at Kame House, which makes sense because they cut that scene up. So if you ask me, they'll only replace the score on TV airings where they need to cut something.

It'll be airing Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, just so we're clear.

4x more a week than in Japan. Which should mean that we'll have no problems catching up.
That is, if it weren't for the fact that the release of the second half of the first season DVD being scheduled for September, hints that they're gonna end up taking 'breaks' and showing re-runs whenever the hell they feel like it.

What are you talking about? The scene where Bulma arrives at Kame House has the original score, too.

... Well in that case the song just feels out of place to me. :P (Not to mention they must have done some skillful editing to get it right, since I didn't notice any skipping.)

The scene was paint-edited, but I don't think it had any cuts...

They cut the scene where Roshi was being his usual perverted self, and they really cut up Bulma's rant.

And I am also not a fan of Bardock's voice.. he sounds like a poor man's version of Christian Bale from Batman Begins.

I definitely don't hear that. I can actually understand Sonny Straight, whereas Bale's Batman is so deep, forced and raspy that I can barely understand what he is saying.

Is there any sort of screengrab from Sean Schemmel's facebook that can verify the above quote about him hating Faulconer and calling the canadian music that may feature in Nicktoons "crappy?" Really find it hard to believe that someone involved in the production of a television series would bash it outright.

I don't see it either. It's one of the better voices in my book.

Eh, Bardock's English voice is okay, I guess. But I haven't ever watched the whole special in English, so all I have to go on is the Kai clip.

It's just.. not Bardock to me. And when he yells.. ew. I don't think it fits Bardock. IMO.
I prefer the Japanese.
