All I'm worried about is the censorship.
They'll be censorship in the TV broadcast, but the DVD release will be uncut.
(I assume based on the orange box sets, the Dragon Boxes and most Anime DVDs on the market.)
This is a misleading statement.
DB Kai is censored even on DVD and Blu-Ray. It just won't be any more censored than the Japanese DVD/Blu-Ray release or TV broadcast. But there's still censorship.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I mean whether if FUNimation themselves will further censor DBZ Kai.

I definitely see what you're getting at, but I'm sure that the vast majority of us understood the context of that statement and weren't mislead by it. I really don't see anyone around here acting surprised that Goku was roasted through the middle of his torso in the Japanese releases rather than impaled.

Dragon Box the Third. Ain't no way I'm shelling out for the same damn episodes a couple months after I first got 'em, son. I'll wait until it's dirt-cheap then maybe pick up the Blu-ray.

Honestly, I'll be getting both, but not until much later (2011?).
I have other stuff I need to buy first, mainly DBZ Season 9, the 7 Double Features of DBZ, DBGT Seasons 1-2, and DB Seasons 1-5.

I just cancelled my Kai. I actually don't see the point unless I'm trying to burn off money. Dragon Box I get more episodes, lower price per episode, mini art book, awesome box, and quality that's almost on par with the scenes when upconverted with the REON chip (but ofcourse can't compare to the redrawn opening and ending). I'm sticking with Dragon Boxes for the time being.

I will just buy Kai Part 1 and come back for Box 3 later. Honestly, I'm starting to lose some interest in DBZ after watching so many episodes repeatedly, and too much boring fillers. Kai is a way to rekindle my interest because it has a faster pace. I dont care about censorship. Kai is not Z. Manga doesnt contain as much blood as Z does. The way I see it, Z has too much exaggeration. Besides, I don't really need all Boxes. I will just buy some parts to fill the hole in my collection. I dont have Season 9 so I'm looking forward to adding Dragon Box Vol. 7 in my collection.

The REON chip? Jeeze, didn't know some here people actually have/know them. Congrats on that. It blows my Faroudja Oppo DVD out of the water. I'm guessing its the HD-AX2 HD-DVD or the Panny Blu ray player?
Anyway, I'll be getting both. Kai on Blu ray and the Dragon Box because I want subtitles, even if I already own all the Japanese counterparts.

Dragon box of course! Kai isn't high-quality product and I'm fan of original anime.

I'm hoping to get both but with money being kind of tight I might not get Kai besides I'm also getting Dragon Ball season 4, not to mention there are several other anime box sets I would like to get like Kodocha and possibly the new Full Metal Alchemist release.

It looks like RightStuf is processing my order for Dragon Box 3. If it ships out on Monday I should get it Wednesday.

I gotta say, those planning on getting both are some very hardcore fans. I could understand manga purists and those wanting to save cash going after Kai, but I'd expect fans of the anime and/or filler not wanting Kai because of how it's just the anime shortened down. I, myself will be going after Kai for these reasons, as the only filler I enjoyed I already have via the Orange Bricks. Kudos to those going for both, though.
EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw the pre-order price for 13 eps is $35. Maybe if the 'Complete Season 1 Set' comes out for that price.

Where did you look to see that? Your order page or an online bank statement?

I got Dragon Box Two the day after it shipped, so Tuesday's not out of the question.
