I wanna be wrong, too! Very wrong!

Uhhh... Ryo Horikawa plays Vegeta in the dub! That's my guess!

Yes, it's a win-win situation.

And I don't mind how Sabat's Vegeta sounds, now. And y'know, even if I didn't like it... the guy deserves it. He's the one who made this new dub possible, and I love him.

I think the awesome news is that they're going to use Kaioh and maybe oni.

I'm trying to imagine Masako Nozawa's Goku speaking in English...it's easier to imagine Ryo Horikawa's Vegeta in English because I know he can speak it fluently.

Names are copyrighted.

And who gives a shit about the oni anyway?

Why yes they are. Good observation.

Okay, so it won't be a big deal if oni is used, but it would be nice if they did.

Well, dunno if you're being sarcastic, but since they're copyrighted and products are sold with the dub name, FUNimation isn't legally allowed to change them.

Right?

Deities of a pantheon are never referred to simply as 'God'.

Yes, I was being sarcastic.

FUNimation can change characters' names if they want. It's not like they're going to sell any Kaioh merchendise, the name is just going to be said in the dub.

I've seen action figures of "King Kai" before. (Complete with a little toy Gregory and a mallet)

But anyway, people at the convention said that during the credits, "King Kai" was listed and played by Sean Schemmel. Check the toonzone forum.

So now that that's out of the way...

EDIT: Here it is. And apparently I'm wrong, Kaio's dub voice remains unchanged... :(

Wow! I stay away for a few days and this kinda news hits!

I'm gonna guess the news is either "Son" being used in the dub... Or Kaio. I think that might be it...

Except, I know this might just be wishful thinking, but there is nothing stopping them from replacing Freeza's voice on the DVD/BD at this point... He has Zero lines in the first boxed set, he just has one laugh that they can easily redub and throw onto the disc before the final pressing...

I mean, it's possible our discontent with Young finally got back to them, and they decided to recast him last minute... for the DVD and BDs only if that must be the case... I can dream can't I?!

You could have just said that from the start, instead of telling me about false copyright stuff. :(

Okay, final guess:

Nappa talks like a pirate in the dub, all the time. That would be awesome, unexpected, and I'm pretty sure the entire board would love it.

"Yarr, Vegeta, what be the readin' on that thar Power Level?"

I'm sticking with Pirate Nappa until we hear otherwise.

Fucking awesome. Pirates = win.

Also, what do they call oni in the dub?

I really don't get what could be so earth-shattering. I'm preparing for a disappointment...

I bet they'll call Mr. Satan by his proper name. Same with Tien.

They already do in their uncut dub of Z.
