The RightStuf International typically sends out FUNimation stuff a week or more before the street date.

Can anyone post some clips of this? If possible, I'd like to hear some clips of Kaiô, Kienzan, the properly pronounced Kaiô-ken, and the "over 9000/8000" scene.

Oh that sucks. I like actually going into a store, and I don't like shipping costs.

When one Ox King line is all people have to complain about dialogue wise, then you know Kai has a good dub.

You're missing the point. The problem is that they kept in something that shouldn't have been there at all. The particular line is not a big deal, it's the principal.

And most of us don't yet have access to the dub outside of a few clips, so for all we know, there could be a lot of other bad lines.

This is why I make use of my ignore list.

The DVDs I want are either hard to find or way overpriced around here so I just get 'em online. However, Kai Blu-ray #1 will probably be my last online order for quite awhile. A Best Buy is opening up nearby pretty soon and they usually have what I want at a good price. So, no more early shipments for me.

You're making such a big deal out of this. Just because FUNimation is going to add a few unnecessary lines, it doesn't mean that they're going to be stupid and corny ones (a la Season 3). They might actually be an improvement and actually funny this time 'round.

FUNimation doesn't have to translate every line and leave it at that, they can add a bit of extra dialogue here and there, so long as it doesn't get out of control. In fact, a lot of Anime dubs do this and you don't see fans of those Anime getting their underwear in a twist because of 5 extra words at the end of a sentence.

At least they don't treat Dragonball like Sgt. Frog.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
It's not the line that's the problem. It's the fact that they added anything in the first place. It's counterintuitive to what they've been telling us their goal with this series is.

Wow, all this over one EXTREMELY Minuscule like from Ox-King that is neither humorous nor does it alter the intention of the scene AT ALL? Seriously, she fainted. You use Smelling salts to revive someone who has fainted. It makes sense.

You guys won't be satisfied until they teach Masako Nozawa English and dub the whole thing with the Japanese cast will you?

Besides, Ox King does actually speak at that moment. You guys are all really overreacting to this. It's such an inconsequential line that I wouldn't even be surprised if the script writer for this episode came up with it entirely independently of those in charge of the Z dub.

The fact that we just don't have a whole lot to go on yet kinda makes this "line" somewhat definitive for the time being. As more people get their hands on the set and more information comes in as a result, perspective will become somewhat more balanced, but until then you can expect that every scrap throwaway line will be scrutinized and held up high as an example of either the great dub we've been hoping for or proof of the status quo.

Quite frankly, we need more.

That wouldn't be good enough either, because Masako Nozawa of today isn't as good as she was 20 years ago. To satisfy us, they'd have to time travel 20 years into the past, teach the Masako Nozawa of that time English, and THEN dub the whole thing with the jp cast.

Nah, I'm fine with FUNimation's cast. If I want to listen to the Japanese cast, I'll listen to it in Japanese. And as Lemmy said, it's one of the only things to talk about.

Yeah. If it were you who'd gotten his hands on the set first, there'd have been an entire dissection by now and the thread would've exploded by ten additional pages before midnight. ^_~

What he's saying, Tanooki, is that you have failed us. You, specifically, have failed us. Miserably.

I hope you're happy.
