So, the Blurays are censored too, huh? Any chances we'll see a proper release someday?

freezas final form could be the boaxart for 4.box ? but i believe on the 4.th box there will be ssj goku or ??
The word "KAI" means in the old North Germanic language Frisian "Kämpfer engl. Fighter" respectively "Krieger engl. Warrior"!
Re: Dragon Ball Kai DVD\Blu-ray Dissection!

I'm confused. If this is the cuts from Z, are they cutting out blood and cuss words or just removing blood from scenes?
WHYYY would they make an editted version of something now?! It's 2010, not '98.

They're removing some instances of blood. Probably because Japanese television was actually more lax with children's shows in the early '90s than it is now.LeprikanGT wrote:I'm confused. If this is the cuts from Z, are they cutting out blood and cuss words or just removing blood from scenes?

And Japanese doesn't have cuss words.

That's because Toei are cheap bastards.LeprikanGT wrote: WHYYY would they make an editted version of something now?! It's 2010, not '98.

One Piece and Naruto had to undergo censorship when they adapted the manga to the anime too. The reason it's censored is because it's 2010.LeprikanGT wrote:I'm confused. If this is the cuts from Z, are they cutting out blood and cuss words or just removing blood from scenes?

No, that's just the reason Kai sucks.Vino wrote:That's because Toei are cheap bastards.
The reason it's self-censored is because broadcasting standards have changed since the original anime aired.
Re: Dragon Ball Kai DVD\Blu-ray Dissection!
They haven't "Removed" the blood, just toned it down. Blood was removed from just a few of the more gruesome injuries (Like the blast through Son and Raditz) but plenty of blood is still present, like When Freeza impales Kuririn on his horn.LeprikanGT wrote:I'm confused. And there are "Cuss words" in Japan (If you wana call them that) like Kuso and Chikusho (the things commonly translated as Cuss Words) and those are all Kept intact.
In case you missed the point of Kai, it's to remaster the show in HD and remove filler. Not to mention finally get Japanese Dragon Ball in Stereo audio.

Actually it does. But you are not going to hear any severe ones in a shounen anime.Cipher wrote: And Japanese doesn't have cuss words.

Curse words such as...?dan2026 wrote:Actually it does. But you are not going to hear any severe ones in a shounen anime.Cipher wrote: And Japanese doesn't have cuss words.
Seriously. I'd like to hear of these words because I know there are extremely rude ways of phrasing things, but I've never heard of straight-up curse words in the sense that we have them in English.
Re: Dragon Ball Kai DVD\Blu-ray Dissection!
This. There is no set of taboo words like we have in English, only words and phrases that are extremely rude or crass in a given context. They're often translated as curses in English, but it's not really the same thing, you know, culturally.Kendamu wrote:Seriously. I wish FUNi could have tried a little harder to make the cover art nicer...
