I have a question. In the first episode, where it does a short re-cap of Dragon Ball, is Young Goku's voice heard enough to where we can guess who voices him?

The credits showed Gohan's new VA doing him, iirc. But, I don't have the set, so I can't check to be sure.

This might be a stupid question... but are there any laptops or PCs with Blu-ray players?

Yep! In fact, I just purchased a new computer with a Blu-ray player in it.

Ooh! That makes it even better for screencaps and video rips than taking a vidcam and shoot your TV.

Yup! Clinkenbeard voices both baby Gokuh and 12-year-old Gokuh.

So..would you guys reccomend the blu-ray over the DVD version then? I can play both, just wanted to know if spending 5$ more is worth it.

You'd have to look at screencaps and decide that for yourself.

Video you'll have to decide if the detail difference, and major differences in colors make you lean to one or the other.

Audio- Blu-ray is better no doubt.

If you have an HDTV with HDMI cable linkups, Blu-ray for sure.

Otherwise, on an SDTV, Blu-ray and DVD look the same, so there's no point in getting Blu-ray if you have an SDTV and don't plan on getting an HDTV anytime soon.

Raditz looks so cool in those first two shots. O_O

I'd really like to see Toei make more new animation like that.

That final shot is easily the coolest Nappa has ever looked.

I went ahead and did a proper review of it on DVD also.

Figured everyone without a BD player would appreciate a proper review and proper screenshots.

So I updated the comparison with the Japanese DVD.

http://www.fanboyreview.net/?p=3008

First time that there is no possible argument. American DVD is better than the Japanese DVD.

Since I don't really like FUNimation's boring Kai cover, I made my own rough version of what I think it should look like: http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/5351/zkaicover.jpg

Come on. Tell me THAT doesn't look better.

EDIT: Since people obviously didn't get it, all I'm trying to state here is a point of my opinion that in my eyes the FUNi cover of Kai isn't all that great in an advertising stand point, with not a lot of effort put into it. What I did was make a mock up, and a rough one at that, to go along with my point, to substitute it as an idea of what another cover could look like to make it sell itself better.

If it were more skillfully made I'd prefer it.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
