DB Kai: Super Saiyan, Son Goku! [Fandub]

This is a fandub of the scene where Goku becomes a Super Saiyan for the first time. This is using the Kai version of it. I did make one change though... I changed the music for the scene to "Ultra Super Dragon Soul", since an insert song feels a lot more appropriate for this moment instead of generic BGM.

I also wanted to attempt Freeza with the real footage instead of just video games. Remember Freeza's voice is more based of the Japanese version, so don't expect a female-like voice out of him. Same reason why you hear "Son Goku" (sometimes), Oozaru, and "Sigh-yan" instead of just "Goku", "Giant Ape" and "Say-yan".

Voices:
SSJ4Furanki: Goku, Freeza, Gohan, Narrator

I originally planned on adapting Goku's "hick" speak from the original, but I didn't wanna screw up probably more than I already did. So, only about the first line is even remotely like a hick. Thanks, to Rocketman though for the retranscribing the proper English into a more hick like manor of speaking. Even though I only did about 1 or 2 line(s) like that...

Also, thanks to Kanzentai for the translation of the next episode's title for the next episode preview.

I'm well aware that Goku isn't really all that good, or the narrator, and Gohan really doesn't really say enough. I tried to pull the most appropriate voice I could do for Goku which is the little kid voice, pitched down (naturally). So, if it sounds odd, that's why.

I decided a while before actually posting this, I actually had this done back on Tuesday.
I do feel good about how Freeza sounds and the mixing this time around.

Enjoy.

It seemed a little scratchy in some places. The ending was probably the best part of it in my opinion. But your voice just doesn't quite sound like how I'd envision Son Goku sounding in English. It's just too scratchy. And there wasn't enough emotion behind your voice in some places. Your Freeza's getting better though.

Oh, yeah no doubt. Especially with Goku, I just tried a voice that might work with him. But, I wasn't excepting too much out of him. To be honest Freeza was my main concern. A voice in that's probably the closest to Goku you'll find is MasakoX. He can take the "comedic/abridged" tone out of his Goku voice, he's done it before.

Freeza ought to be a bit deeper, if you ask me.

As for Goku--if you're gonna scream, then do it. If you're going to do a half-hearted job, you just end up sounding like you desperately need throat surgery.

EDIT: I missed your Gohan and narrator the first time, because YouTube was being silly and I had to skip around to keep the video playing. Gohan sounded okay, but your tone isn't quite right for the narrator. I'd go with something a little warmer and deeper; this narrator sounded like he didn't care a whole lot.

On a previous dub of Freeza I did, which is the Burst Limit clip, I got a comment saying it was too deep, but it's still the same voice. So, I'm not sure about the pitch of Freeza's voice. Just trying to do a similar (but not exact copy, of how Nakao does his Freeza).

Yeah, the scream I did half-ass it, I was worried about being heard (which I know shouldn't be a problem, but I feel awkward when people are home and I'm doing a Dragon Ball Dub). The narrator I wasn't really trying either. So, yeah, your criticisms are correct.
