About a DBZ movie piece of BGM (Japanese score)...
I'm stumped. I have searched the net, asked on other message boards and everything, but I can not find out what this theme is called! Could anyone help?
It's the theme that played when Goku was gathering energy for the Spirit Bomb to use on Kid Buu. (Japanese version) Not the "Dun dun dun" theme, it's kind of like a slow chorus theme.. Anyone have any idea of what it's called?

See, the thing with DBZ BGM is that none of these pieces actually have NAMES; they're just pieces of BGM. On some CDs they're combined with other pieces of BGM into a single track (usually comprising between three and six pieces of music) and then given names... but that still doesn't name individual pieces of music.
If this specific BGM was first used in DBZ movie 7, then it appears on two discs: the first "Ongakushû" and the fifth disc of the 5 CD set. It would be on the tracks respective to the movie's title (and in this case, that would be "Kyokugen Batoru!! San Dai Sûpâ Saiya-jin" for both discs).
I'm fairly sure I know the piece you're talking about, and it's on these CDs.

Yes, I know exactly what musical piece you're referring to, and out of an incredible stroke of luck, it's on both the 5-disc set and Ongakushu vol. 1. The only thing is, you have to wait a while through the track to finally get to it. But it's a fantastic piece.
While we're on the subject, I'd like to mention something in passing. How many of you read the Harry Potter books? I wanted to say that this musical theme in question was the very song I pictured the Phoenix's Song to be at the end of Book 4 when Harry is dueling with Voldemort, and everyone's ghosts pop out and egg Harry on. Doesn't that theme fit this scene perfectly?

BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Yeah, uh, we have a huge problem with telling people to download things, nevermind giving them suggestions on where to do so. If I were you, I'd be well aware of what a thin line I were walking.spikemcruffy wrote:Why don't people just buy the 5 Cd set? Oh right its murderously expensive , but not the Chinese one...I fell into the trap!
If you can't buy it I'm sure there's a recent torrent for it out there , I think boxtorrents has it.
It really is good and worth the money but it goets quite boring after a while.
Does anyone know if the movie 10 , 11 , 12 and 13 Ending themes were released in an album , apart from the singles?
The DBZ movie 12 ending theme appeared on one of Hironobu Kageyama's personal CDs, Mixture (Best Album 3) (COCC-13348), which also contained the three English versions he recorded and "Hikari no WILLPOWER." I'm not sure what else may be on the Hironobu Kageyama Daizenshuu 5 CD set (COCC-14328); it's got a TON of DBZ songs, and it was released in 1997, so those themes would have been out by then.
But no, there's no actual DBZ release that contains all of those songs in one place. Well, that's not entirely true. The fourth set of the recent Complete Song Collection discs (COCX-32153, 32154, 32155) has the movies 10-13 closing themes on its third disc. So, you've gotta buy a 3-CD set to get the songs all in one place, but it can be done

Err...ColossusTheGreat wrote:Thank you for all of your help and replies. If I may ask a couple more questions.. About 5 CD set, which CD and which track would the theme in question be on?
If you look over on this page, you'll see that it's on the fifth disc of the 5 CD set, and it's track #13, exactly as I've described by giving you the movie's titleVegettoEX wrote:If this specific BGM was first used in DBZ movie 7, then it appears on two discs: the first "Ongakushû" and the fifth disc of the 5 CD set.
