I think Babel Fish is more accurate,But Google Translator can translate it on the same page so that's why i use it even thought the translate is kinda weird but it's still understandable.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Yeah I know. What does the new website got to do with the new ending? Absolutely nothing. So discuss stuff like that in the appropriate topics.
Anyway, only a short while to go. I'm all ready!

Re: Possible New OP/ED (New ED Confirmed For Ep. 55)
So, here it is.
Dragon Soul
The OP basically stayed the same except for the last part.
Such a shame, they should've at least upgraded the beginning too with chibi Gohan, Goku versus Vegeta in the Saiyajin arc and such. But I did like the new scenes at the end very much.
Wings of Heart
The new ending. I am a bit disappointed by the animations... and the song isn't as catchy as Yeah Break Care Break... But at least it's totally new.
What do you guys think?
Edit: *major sweatdrop as she sees this is been thoroughly discussed in the Episode 55 topic*

The animation is cool, but this song is everthing that I thought it would be -- a typical "shoujo" song. And as far as they go, "Wings of the Heart" isn't anything special.
I liked "Zenkai Power" better than this song for pete's sake.

The new animation in the opening with Gohan standing on top of the temple reminds me of Great Saiyaman standing on top of the building in the second DBZ opening.

Yeah, I believe that definitely was some sort of reference to that!Budogenkai wrote:The new animation in the opening with Gohan standing on top of the temple reminds me of Great Saiyaman standing on top of the building in the second DBZ opening.

Re: Renewed opening and new ending (Wings of the Heart)
Eh...Really not liking the new Ending. It's just not DragonBall to me. I mean hell, Yeah! Break! Care! Break!, though not perfectly DragonBall. At least felt it somewhat. This just felt Shoujo to me. Really didn't like it. The animation was "ok". I actually liked Y! B! C! B!'s animation better.
As for the new Dragon Soul animation...IT FRIGGIN ROCKS!!! It was really cool looking. Loved it all. Though I think it should have been fully re-animated. No more Goku Vs. Vegeta (Saiya-jin Saga) stuff. And ESPECIALLY no more Kuririn and Tenshinhan Vs. the Saibamen.
But I have to say. As much as I love Dragon Soul. I'm disappointed to see that Kai is getting the same treatment as Z did. We're in an Era where there are constantly new OP's and ED's. Hell FMA: Brotherhood already has 5 of each. I was hoping that since Kai is meant to introduce the new generation to DragonBall and modernize it to an extent, that the OP and ED would be getting the modern treatment. But so far, it's just like Cha-La. Same song through the Cell Era and slightly changed animation. Just seems very cheap to me (Not that this is anything new for Kai, lol).

I'd have loved for Kai to have gotten the treatment Brotherhood is getting from the beginning. TT_TT
All I can really hope for is that Toei's saving the money they could've used for Kai towards something else DB-related.

I really do not like the new ending, the animation and the song included. I think they could have done a better job.
I must say though, if the renewed opening gets me this excited then what would happen if a new series came out? The animation was fantastic, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait until I have this opening through FUNimation's home releases of Z Kai.

Re: Renewed opening and new ending (Wings of the Heart)
I'm certainly glad Kai has resisted the temptation to change their opening theme with the frequency with which a person changes one's pants. Dragon Soul is a solid theme for the show, and I wouldn't mind if it stayed for the duration of the series.
As for the new animation, I was a bit disappointed but not at all surprised that the new stuff didn't kick in until the end. That was the same thing that happened when the Freeza arc started. And Cha-La never got a complete overhaul. The main difference, though, was that, aside from characters' ages, the Cha-La animation didn't have much that was time specific. It was just general DB action/nuttiness. The Kai stuff had a lot of recreations of specific scenes, and it probably would have been better served if things like the Goku/Vegeta fight had been done away with.
But in terms of the new stuff, I thought it was awesome. Gave each main character a little moment/close-up, and I loved Gohan on top of Kami's palace. Very beautiful and a nice callback to the Great Saiyaman stuff.
As for the ending... I'm not too sure. The animation was nice, except for that extraordinarily tacky-looking "Dragon Ball Kai" stock ticker in the middle of the screen. Once again, like the new stuff in the opening, the ending was nice in that it gave specific attention to each of the mains.
But as for the song itself... that's what I'm really not sure about. I'm trying very hard not to jump on the, "It's too girly and therefore it sucks," bandwagon, as songs like "Hikari no Tabi" are awesome, but I admit I am having a hard time seeing it as anything but generic J-pop fluff or a "Band Aid"-esque compilation of stars. I'd like to know what the lyrics are. Maybe that would help redeem it.

I really like the new Ending, feels very "One Piece", and the animation is stunning.

Well, after having over a week to mull it over, I have to say that I'm no longer put off by this song. In fact, it's really starting to grow on me. I still think the scrolling "Dragon Ball Kai" stock ticker is still tacky, but I'm otherwise impressed by the ending animation as well.

Well, One Piece is a show that is much more in tuned with its female fanbase (many of the ending themes are pretty girlish). There there's the fact that Kokoro no Hane reminds one of the twelth opening, Kaze (w)o Sagashite, similarly done by some sort of idol group (although admittedly much more catchy then Kokoro no Hane).LilKokuLink wrote:What aspects make it seem One Piece like? Re: Renewed opening and new ending (Wings of the Heart)
I don't really think that One Piece has a "female fanbase" that Toei is appealing to, I think it's that Morning Musume managed to use some influence and get their song on one of the most popular shows in Japan. Not only that, but as I recall there was some insane outrage over the fact that a song like that was used for what is arguably the most important part of the series thusfar (though, I agree, it is catchy). Though it shares similarities to this song Kokoro wo Sagashite, I don't thing that song represents the average One Piece song: One Piece is represented by ska bands, boy bands, far-too-happy-for-their-own-good rock bands, and some good ol' 90s rock. I don't think any of those necessarily have a female component to them, sans the second.JulieYBM wrote: Well, One Piece is a show that is much more in tuned with its female fanbase (many of the ending themes are pretty girlish). When it comes to Dragonball Kai using a song like Kokoro no Hane I agree that it doesn't really fit the mood at all, much like Kokoro wo Sagashite doesn't fit the mood of One Piece. Fortunately I don't really think it brings the overall watchability down significantly, and the visuals are actually very nice. I like the character spreads and the animation looks half-decent for Kai. The song also isn't the only one in the episode, you guys are lucky enough to have an opening.
Re: Renewed opening and new ending (Wings of the Heart)
I meant to make that comparison, actually. First with the questionable use of Kaze (w)o Sagashite and then the use of Kokoro no Hane, Toei is at the most working a bit too closely with the idol sect of the industry.Zach Logan wrote:I don't really think that One Piece has a "female fanbase" that Toei is appealing to, I think it's that Morning Musume managed to use some influence and get their song on one of the most popular shows in Japan. Of course, I'm one of those crazy few who like their choice of opening music for One Piece's twelth opening. Not so much with Dragon Ball Kai, but that's more of a case of me just not finding the music memorable.

Yeah, One Piece does have a lot of those "shoujo" songs. The reason why I don't mind them in One Piece and hate them in Dragon Ball Kai, is that they're different shows. I feel that Dragon Ball Kai is more darker (especially in the Jinzouningen arc) than One Piece.Rory wrote:I really like the new Ending, feels very "One Piece", and the animation is stunning.
