Is Gero mentioned in the Dragon Ball dub? (Kai Related)
Going off of Innagadadavida's theory that FUNimation's dub of Kai is striving to be consistent with their original dub of Dragon Ball, was Dr. Gero ever mentioned in that dub? I'm interested in finding out how the name will be pronounced in the English dub of Kai, I honestly prefer FUNi's incorrect pronunciation with the soft "J" sound my self, but wouldn't mind if they used the original pronunciation either.

Considering the filler episode with Dr. Frappe, I don't think even the dub ventured into that kind of revisionist nonsense. But someone who's seen more of that dub could answer better than I can...

Gero was never mentioned in the Dragon Ball dub at all, not even in the Dr. Flappe episode.

Well in that case if Inna is indeed correct, we'll be expecting to hear "Geh-row" in the English Kai dub.

Really? You think so? I don't believe for a second that they'll pronounce it correctly.

Considering it's pronounced that way in GT, as well as all ancillary media, I'd say it's fairly unlikely.
Retaining Spirit Bomb caused some speculation that they were trying to stay consistent with GT's dub as well, which is silly because it doesn't share continuity with Kai, but oh well.

All very Interesting points Gaffer & Cipher. I guess we won't know until FUNimation has dubbed the series up to that point, darn.

They already said they're not fixing name pronounciations except for Kaio-ken.

I used to pronounce it "GEAR-O". Y'know, because he makes robots.

We got Seiyan, who knows what we'll get in this...

I'm fine with it either way, as long as they don't use the Ocean dub's "Jyro".

I'm really hoping the dub corrects the pronunciation. It's not even a case of changing the character's name to the extent of a spelling like it is with Tenshinhan -- it literally is all about the pronunciation, just like Kaio-Ken.
But then again... it seems like they're not throwing all precedent out the window in favor of accuracy, so...
