Even on Cartoon Network for Z, they changed every mention of kill to "defeat" or "beat."

Um, what? No they didn't. They said "die," "kill," etc all the time on CN.

Well, they said die a lot, but they usually edited kill, such as:

"Fight you? No, I'm gonna kill you" --> "Fight you? No, I'm gonna beat you."

"I have the strongest techniques in the universe! And I'll use all of them to kill you!" --> "I have the strongest techniques in the universe! And I'll use all of them to defeat you!"

You're right. They did edit it out on occasion, but I would wager that had nothing to do with Cartoon Network's policies. That was just FUNimation trying to sell more uncut tapes by self-sanitizing their dialogue.

One of my favorite Goku lines ever: "I'm not in very good shape at all, I'm dead."

They ruined that line by drawing it out. "I used to be in good shape when I was alive, but now that I'm dead, I'm not."

Really. Way to overexplain the line, making it unfunny.

Well, would you rather they say it really slowly, or have him say it and then have his mouth move for 5 more seconds?

I speak English, so when something is translated, I prefer all of it to be translated to English.

I'm not quite sure why. But Vic's Dragon Soul has grown on me. I prefer it to Schemmel's now. It may be over the top, but at least it's sung with some talent =/

Anyway, I couldn't help but laugh when they let the Makankosappo slip in there. Geez, just 4 episodes in and they're already making lame ass mistakes with the edits.

You should've answered the real attack name. But, yeah that does seems weird, there's no/very little quality control it seems. While it's nice to have Makankosappo and Tenka'ichi Budokai show up, it's odd to see them show up in the TV Edited dub.

He thinks Gohan will turn evil and team up with Piccolo to defeat Vegeta and Nappa. And when Goku returns they'll have to face him together in order to take over the world.

Technically, that should be "Smooth job, FUNimation." Nicktoons might dictate the content changes, but I doubt they actually do any editing to the footage themselves...
