Will KAI conclude in 100 episodes???
It just doesn't seem very likely.
Originally, 100 episodes sounds like a good round number and yet they have about 40 episodes left. 50 episodes for the Saiyan/Frieza sagas alone, right??
Maybe they can finish in 130? 150?
Thoughts? New announcements I have not heard?
I tried looking up this info on this site but found nothing so I apologize in advance if this topic has already been posted.

We seem to answer this question once a week around here.
the "Kai will only be 100 episodes" thing was a rumor that hit around the time the announcement first happened.
It was pretty accurate in that, the current tentative count is "99 episodes", but really, The episode counts are not set in stone and are based entirely on Toei just predicting so they can plan out their DVD releases.
First the DVD releases only went up to episode 50, then around the time episode 50 aired, their DVD schedule was changed to "99".
We will most likely get another change in the planned episode count as we get closer to episode 99.
Short Answer: No, 99 episodes is a tentative plan that is "99%" Certain to change the closer we get to it.

Re: Will KAI conclude in 100 episodes???
It's been covered a few times, yeah... but with FUNimation saying themselves that it's going to be 99 episodes, there is still a bit of mis-information floating around out there.
An episode cap first showed up as "50" because Happinet (who handles the home release of Kai with Toei) had initially only scheduled up through episode 50 of the series for DVD and Blu-ray. For example, in June 2009, Happinet had announced through a fourth Blu-ray box of the series ending with episode 49. That fourth set has since been updated to include five discs and cover episodes 40-54.
Right now, Happinet has announced up through 8 Blu-ray boxes / 33 individual DVDs to cover up through episode 99.
Will that change? Almost certainly. We are getting ready to hit episode 60, and it is unlikely that they will cut so much material that they are able to get through the entirety of the Cell and Buu story arcs in a mere 40 episodes. There are a couple threads you can search through where fans are looking at something around 130-140 episodes in total based on current editing-down practices, but it's really just anyone's guess right now.

Ah, so the 100 episode count was merely just their starting point. Just to have something down on paper, so to speak to get the ball rolling. That makes sense.
Thanks for the info.

As crazy, hell-freezes-over-unlikely as it may be, I could somehow seeing Toei finishing the series off with a Kai movie. Now I'm not saying it will encompass the Cell and Buu arc into one film but, for some reason, I can see them making some sort of attempt at concluding the series in film format. But that's just one schmoes opinion.

I say it will end at around 150 episodes. With the first 13 episodes of Kai equaling to 30 Z episodes, that's almost half. Z had 291 episodes and 20 of those episodes was filler arc material. So take those out of the picture and you got 271 and half of that is about 135 episodes. So, doing that math may kinda give you a estimate on when the series will end, in about 140-150 episodes.

Doubt it. Episode 60 is almost out and Gohan hasn't even become a super Saiyan yet... lol. I DOUBT Kai will conclude in 100 episodes. It's gonna probably be around 130. Could conclude in 100 episodes though.
