Linda Young not to voice Freeza in the Dragon ball Kai dub?

I think it's a bit too late for anything involving Kai to be burned in the memories of fans who have stuck to Z for the past 10 years.

Let's be honest: how many new fans do you think Kai will really create, and more importantly, how many Z fans are going to convert exclusively to Kai. From the looks of it, not enough to really make a difference.

While you're probably right, seeing as how Kai's only getting the cable treatment for now, it's also set to air on CW. Sure, it won't bring in anywhere near the amount of fans that Z gathered while it ran on Toonami, but there's bound to be a good number of new fans brought in from Kai. For whoever they are, this will be their first experience hearing Freeza, which is always a good thing.

This is very exciting stuff indeed. I was disappointed to hear Freeza wasn't going to be recast upon Kai's initial English cast announcements, but this most certainly rectifies that (even if they have to retcon his voice in the first episode to do it). This also makes me wonder if they plan to do something with the Ginyu Force, Dodoria, or Zarbon. Likely not seeing as how this was an issue with Ms. Young's line-reading speed, but if they recasted the lot of them in Japan I guess that's an excuse to do it here too.

Or at least change the Ginyus' names to be more punny...

We already know they're replacing the Whole Ginyu Special Corps, Zarbon, and they already replaced Dodoria in Raging Blast and there's a good chance that'll be carrying over.

Huber would be an excellent choice, but he's already pretty prominent as Android 17.

Then recast Android 17. No offense to any 17 fans out there, but the character's not nearly as interesting as Freeza (in my humble and certainly non-definitive opinion).

That logic is flawed. "Lets recast two people instead of one because Huber(in theory) would make a good Freeza!" Or, like they are doing, Funimation could keep Huber on 17 and recast some one for Freeza. That way we avoid confusion and headaches.

Well, I guess you could say I'm not as irritated by inconsistencies as the average fan. I wouldn't mind 17 being recast so that Huber could be Freeza. It wouldn't give me a headache, personally. Quite the opposite, it would be music to my ears.

Hmm...so he's probably a relatively new face at least. Still haven't got the foggiest, but it is nice to know it could be an actor I already know, so that if we get the name before we actually hear him, I can maybe form thoughts in my head.
