What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
Hi, I just want to know your thought about which DBZ Movie that to you think the best DBZ Movie of all time
Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
The first one, because of its animation and fight choreography, the eighth one because it's actually paced like a real movie, or the thirteenth one because it has great animation and the pacing of a real movie. That doesn't make them good movies by any stretch of the imagination; just tolerable.
Any other answer is wrong and based on un-scientific, personal feelings.

Yeah, that one has always been my favourite as well.Cipher wrote:The first one, because of its animation and fight choreography
I also enjoy Lord Slug for the team up of Goku and Piccolo as well as that amazing false Super Saiyan transformation.

- Can fit in canon
- SSJ2 Gohan
- Awesome "battle stages"
- Trunks
- Kikuchi's best score ever
- Goku defying death's rules
- Goku playing cards with Bubbles and Gregory

I'll say Movie 13. Along with what Cipher already said, it has a cool story and an awesome original protagonist.
I also enjoy Movie 2 and 6. Goku and Piccolo: Round 2, what more can I say?

I'm sure this exact thread popped up a couple of weeks back. Either way, I say movie 13.

I don't really have one top favorite, but if I had to go with multiple favorites I'd have to say Movies 1 and 12. By the sounds of it, I'd probably put Movie 13 there too, but sadly I've still yet to see it. I need to get around to doing that soon...

Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
Damn, this is hard one.........
Can't decide between the first and fifth!
Fifth! I was really excited with this movie back in the days, when I didn't care about canon and non canon.
Hey, there you go with my most favorite villain's brother, some cool camera shots in the fight with Goku
and what the hell! Piccolo's stretching arms wreckin' up the forest and coming back from the dead land
and finally, I like how the first half of the movie is actually a mere survival aside from fighting.
So yes, Strongest versus Strongest!

Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
Of the Z movies I liked the first one the best. Awesome fight choreography and I liked the style of the art.
Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
I say the first one too. Good plot with a neat backstory, good villains, fun chemistry between Goku and Piccolo, someone other than Goku saving the day, awesome insert song scene... what's there not to like?
Movie 4 is a good runner up - yeah, it's essentially a Daimaou arc retread, but it works, it has Piccolo winning fights, it has good fighting and pacing... good stuff.
Movie 10 I quite like, too. The Goten/Trunks/Videl teamup is fun, and something we never really see anywhere else. And the ending, while a bit weird, actually works pretty damn well. Much better than the typical "then Goku decided to use Bullshit Punch and killed the villain in one hit" stuff the movies got so fond of using, at least.
Movie 13 had potential, but the lack of direction really annoyed me. The movie seemed to center on the Saiyaman duo at first, but then shifts its focus completely to Trunks and builds him up... until the last 5 minutes, when they just have Goku, who was barely in the movie at all up until this point, randomly steps up and one shots the villain with the bullshittiest Bullshit Punch ever. Argh.

Movie 3, and mostly just because of Tullece.
I just found him amazing...oh, and it's amazing Ocean Dub.

Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
Movie 11! I'm just kidding.
Like the most people here, Movie 1 was one of the best movies because of good fight choreography. The ending was nicely done. I get a bit of Goku/Piccolo vs. Raditz-esque there.
Movie 7 is pretty exciting because this features the Super Saiyans trio. The ending was bit funny in the English dub.
Movie 9 is my favorite. The animation looks amazing! The sound effects and Kikuchi's score are the top-notch. The Tenkaichi Bukodai is the spotlight. I kinda wish Trunks would have brought his sword so he can exchange the blows with Gokua.

Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru's #1 biggest fan
Re: What's The Best DBZ Movie Of All Time?
Why does this have to be a total joke? Like ten out of the thirteen movies, it's not actually good, but it has the best featured character combination of all. (Goten, Trunks, Krillin, Mr. Satan, #18)DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Movie 11! I'm just kidding.
And it's not a single forty-five minute fight, which is a huge, huge plus. Also, holy shit continuity between movies.
That ain't no Tenkaichi Budokai like I've ever seen. And it sure as hell isn't "in the spotlight" after the first five minutes. The Tenkaichi Bukodai is the spotlight.

I think it's great that none of us actually have to use the titles of the movies. All we need to do is say the number.
As for me...I'd have to say 13, 8, 10, 9, or 6(That's with Metal Cooler, right?)

Funny that there's only one mention of movie 8 yet.

That's what happens when all the movie names are variations on "Dragon Ball Z: Super Awesome Battle".Big Momma wrote:I think it's great that none of us actually have to use the titles of the movies. All we need to do is say the number.![]()
Eh, I like movie 11 better than movie 3. Sure, the concept of Tullece itself is cool, but the fighting is terrible, the first half is spent dicking around with that damn dragon, and it has the most annoyingly blatant "if you're not Goku, you're not allowed to be useful" crap in the entire series. Terrible movie.

Yeah, movie 3 has always been one my least favourite of the DBZ films. The Oozaru Gohan part I found dull as well.Adamant wrote: Eh, I like movie 11 better than movie 3.
