Obviously I know that 95% of this Forum agrees with me with the Dragon Boxes are superior. I'm not looking to discuss the subject of the Video. Rather, I wanted to know how you guys thought I did. Ya know, presentation wise.

I thought it was nicely done. I think you could have mentioned the title cards and credits, but I suppose that wouldn't have been as big a deal. The NEP, though, I think would've been worth mentioning. There's also the Dragon Box having better Japanese audio.

Nice video Gozar! It was really convincing, especially the part with those Nappa screenshots.

^ My gosh, how can they screw it up so badly?

As for the review, it was a really nice comparison. I just wish more "Season Heads" would watch this video and realize what they are missing out on and support the Dragon Boxes so they can continue onward.

I like the comparison screenshots.
I for one would rather have a clearer picture with grain and in 4:3 than no grain with lines removed and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I just want to show that Nappa screenshot to every YouTuber who thinks that the Season Sets are better than the Dragon Boxes.

I know right? So do I and there are plenty out there who say "I'm just going to stick with the orange bricks" I reply to their comments by suggesting that they watch his video.

Don't get me wrong, I myself am going to stick with the orange bricks. But it's more of a financial issue, than a common sense issue.

I'm not going to lie. I never even noticed the disappearing lines until someone on this board pointed it out. :o

Maybe those "hardcore season set" people didn't notice either?

I am buying the dragon boxes though, as they are clearly superior and they are what I wanted originally from the season sets.

It was the same case for me. I asked a few of my friends if they noticed the disappearing lines stuff and they all said no.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Wow, I don't mind the season sets myself and I'm admittedly unobservant on a lot of things but how would one not notice Goku's outline vanishing when he's riding on that street cleaner? You would almost have to be looking away from the screen.

I don't see how you could possibly not notice the missing lines. I spotted them far before I read anything about them. In fact, I think there may even have been a "WTF mising lines?" Google search involved after I saw that Nappa scene.

They're not exactly show-ruining, but they're distracting as hell and there's no excuse for them in the first place. It means that absolutely no attention was paid to the remastering process. Not even a once-over.

I don't know how I didn't notice. But once I found out about it I couldn't STOP noticing it.

The worst offender that I remember is a scene during the SSJ Goku versus Freeza fight. I don't remember when exactly but it got really terrible during a shot of Goku's face.

False. The worst offender is a scene in the interior of Kami's spaceship in "Season Two," with Krillin, Gohan and Bulma. I forget what episode it's in, but it starts shaking for some reason and I swear to god there have to be a few frames where nothing in the entire shot has an outline.

I think that it all depends on the size of the screen you use. If you have a 42 inch TV, then of course you are going to notice the white lines.

The Goku scene just stands out in my memory as being especially horrible.

Season 2 is widely consider the worst overall season as far as the "remastering" process goes.

Which is funny seeing as how Funi thought it was ideal to view on large television sets with the whole wide screen process and all.

I usually watch my DVDs on my 15" laptop screen. Even with the player semi-shrunk to take up about 1/3 of the screen while I watch on something else... the disappearing lines at their worst jumped out at me more obviously and glaringly than a rabid, starved wolverine on fire.

Out of all the "remastering's" flaws in the first half of the Season Sets, the disappearing lines during high-motion scenes are by far the most noticeable.
