That's definitely true, which does have something to do with it, but probably not in the way you are thinking... I'm a dub fan, and like Colleen's Gohan. Actually I liked the 9000 tv version, though the acting part was much more accurate on blu-ray.
Exactly what I've been worried about for a while now man. Someone buying a product expects basically what they saw with things that were edited for content or time back in, not such a drastic change. It is so weird, it is like watching the show for the first time. I know what's going to happen, but the new music/better voices/better script accuracy, makes it feel like something completely new.
I have bought all the Dragon Boxes so far, and haven't watched a single episode, but with Kai I can't wait to sit down and watch the whole series as it comes out!
Also I'm not sure if this was covered or not, probably was, but Roshi is definitely drinking beer in that episode. It's not edited at all on the DVD at least. (EDIT: Yep it was mentioned in Tanooki's thread)
