No eyecatches for Nicktoons?

Post by LeprikanGT » Mon Jun 07, 2010 8:04 pm

Is that because they have like 87 commercials an episode and the episode ends at 8:24 every time? [then commercial after commercial then the next episode preview]

Yeah, pretty much. Money supercedes eyecatches, as much as they're concerned.

Actually from what I've heard there's only 1 commericial break.
But within those breaks, they show 10 billion commercials. And they actually show commercials in between the last part of the episode and the Next Episode Preview.

No, for the TV broadcast they obviously left it in Japanese. Because that's the smart choice.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Heh, it wouldn't make any less sense than any of the other bizarre consistency issues they've dealt with so far in regards to the TV version vs. the home release.

Nope, sorry. Just into an obscure Klingon dialect.

... Okay, sorry, I'm not helping. I don't even know if they include the previews at all, since I haven't been watching the TV broadcast. But if others say they're there, then they're there.

Here in England we only have 1 commercial break during a 30 minute show, don't worry you will get used to it
Also, we have eyecatches on all shows before and after the break.

Not every channel, but a lot. That's why I love the BBC, no adverts. :)

Watching the World Cup on ITV is going to be annoying.

Technically, Nicktoons is using their own eyecatches, but they're about the same length. They could forgo their personal Nicktoons eyecatches and use the real Kai eyecatches, but branding is important to them.

That's how it was with the original DB/Z/GT airings. On Toonami, they had their own eye-catchers.

Pretty much every Western cartoon that originally aired in syndication but then got rerun on a cable network had the same thing happen as well.

Oh, yeah, of course the BBC.
But of course, having no ads has a downside, for example, what if you needed to go grab a drink
And they only have a huge ad break during half-time during football games, usually

The original eyecatches are exactly 5 seconds long, as are Nicktoons' own eyecatches, so ostensibly, Nicktoons could put their logo in the other lower-third corner opposite the Kai logo, with a voiceover saying "Dragon Ball Z Kai will be right back on Nicktoons!" / "We now return to Dragon Ball Z Kai, on Nicktoons!"

It would be similar to what Fuji TV stations in Japan do; they show the "Dream 9" logo in the other lower-third corner opposite the Dragon Ball Kai (and One Piece) eyecatches.

But with some anime, Toonami kept the original eye-catches, as well as using their own eye-catches.
