Haha. Are you guys in it together? That guy has hit the jackpot. There are plenty of suckers out there willing to pay $100 for this crap (and yes i do know what I posted earlier in this thread.).
I bet there is a help manual that says "buy a better game, Ya dumba..." but then it trails off because he ran away with their money.

Of course it's rare, you're the creator and distributor... good luck fighting Toei, FUNimation, and Atari's legal beagles when they come knocking on your door.

This is brilliant, I only wish I'd thought of it first. What an easy way to make a bit of cash! :)

I just reported him to customer service. Unfortunately, it looks like he already managed to sell some in between the time. :?

And why didn't the customers notice. If this is really the rarest DB game ever, how the hell is this guy getting several of them, and keeps putting them up after the other ones end?

It's not hard for it to earn the title, but the way that guy's selling them, they wont be rare for long. The only reason it's rare, is because he made it, and is distributing it- so technically it would be one of a kind, but this guy is making copies, so there will be only as many copies as he makes.

This guy doesn't even deserve to live, let alone be able to sell anything ever again...

The problem is, it turns out that "Elecbyte" were sort of crooks themselves.

I was in the community when they put up a donation system to support their Windows release, and I remember all the older members rushing to donate some amount. I of course was fairly young, so I just witnessed the proceedings.

They more than surpassed what Elecbyte requried, and Elecbyte chose to ignore this and disappeared.

Now of course someone's released a Windows hack of the last Linux version of MUGEN. Some people still adhere to Elecbyte loyally, insisting that no one should play this hacked version because a legitimate Windows copy is on the way.

But to me and most everyone else in the community, it seems like Elecbyte took the money and ran.

I showed this to some friends at the Mechanical Maniacs board, here's their reactions...
Purple Monkey wrote:The GT game 1 is terrible and AF doesn't exist or isn't an actual TV show and the bad bit is this guy is going to get people to buy this crap.
Darth Revan wrote:If it's false. The new owner can sue. I almost could have sued someone for not Insuring my item Properly.
Eno the Red Guy wrote:Whoa, people are actually bidding for this? Jeez, people are stupid...
Bean Bandt wrote:People are still trying to make money off that AF rumor from the late 90s? That's sad.

Looks like it ain't up for grabs anymore. Either he pulled it or some idiot actually bought it straight up. I love how the supposed screen shots were nothing more than large animated GIFs with explosions done in PhotoShop. Who the hell does he think he's fooling? There isn't even a background.

But Purple Monkey is right; people actually do buy crap like this. I don't know what is more pathetic: The guy selling this crap when he should be spending his time making money legitimately, or the poor shmuck that has money to burn and feeds this pathetic form of piracy.

I only wish I could see the "winner's" face when he tries to play it for the first time.
Ben wrote:It's a sad fact of e-bay. Remember when there were auctions for Pokemon Diamond and Jade?

(Though there is a Pokemon Diamond/Pearl in development.)
Jade wrote:Looks like the bidding did go all the way. Some dumb sap bought it for over a hundred bucks. Any follower of DB would know it's fake just for the fact that there is no SSJ5!! So I really don't know who to smack in the face more; the guy who cooked this whole thing up, or the moron who spent a hundred clams on it.

Oh well, this isn't the first time eBay's been used for this kind of idiocy. Anyone remember the Virgin Mary cheese sandwich?

Well I'm hoping it's been removed because of my report as I got an e-mail from them last night saying that they received it and that if they found valid reason that my claim was inded true, they would pull the item. So, perhaps that's why it's gone. Please don't let it be that he sold them all. :?

Actually, it's not "gone." On the contrary, he has only increased his activity, and is now selling "10 available" in a multiple purchase auction at 100 bucks a pop.
I sure hope that this crook doesn't make $1000 off a damn MUGEN game!

Why hasn't this guy been sued yet. Or murdered. I'm not bothered.
People will start thinking of this as an actual licenced game because he's selling so many of them. I can't wait to see some boards with people saying
"TAHT GAME 100K5 50 F00KIN C00L!!!! 1 NO I WUZ RITE A11 ALONG. AF RULEZZZ!!!!!!!" (Maybe I wrote that too well  )

Let's see if Tanooki gets a reponse from FUNi! XD

Oh, and as previously mentioned, the Internet Privacy Act was signed by Clinton way back when, I think it was before the days of Bid for Power, though. An ex-buddy of mine has a cosplay prop business making gunblades and keyblades, etc. he has that disclaimer on his page to keep people from Disney and Square-Enix from entering.

Someone should tell Atari. That'll put a stop to it.
Are you familiar with the fighting game making program called MUGEN? I can't vouch for whether there's a MUGEN game actually on those CDs or not, but it wouldn't be far fetched that there is one on it. It wouldn't be that hard to throw that together.
MUGEN lets you download other people's characters and stuff, which you put into your game to use. It's pretty tough making your own characters, but this guy easily could have taken a bunch of characters other people made, and tossed them in one MUGEN game.
MUGEN has annoying compatability issues though, so I don't know what the odds are that all those characters on that game actually work.
If anyone's actually interested in playing a DBZ MUGEN game, without paying $100 like a dumbass, I found this. I dunno what operating system it runs on though, or if it works at all. It's too big for me to download. So try it out if you really want, but I'm not guaranteeing it will work.

Click "T?charger " and follow the links to download it.
I went to the website. How do I go about installing it?

Victator Supreme: Did you already download it? If you have it, you just open the folder. There should be a bunch of other folders, like "chars", "data", "stages", and others. Don't touch the contents of these unless you know how MUGEN works. If you just wanna play it, there should be an executable file in the main folder. Just start it. There's no installation.

This is going by what I know of MUGEN games though. I said I haven't actually downloaded this cause it's too big (56k connection :?). And I don't know what operating system it runs on. Could be DOS (which may have trouble if you're on a new OS like Windows XP), could be Linux (probably not, but it's a possibility), or it could be a Windows hack of the Linux version of MUGEN (which would probably be the best case if you're on a newer OS).
