It's practically identical to version 2. Instead of Gohan running along the dragon's back, it has a 4-layered moving pan over a landscape. And instead of Nappa and Vegeta walking in that volcano thing, it has a tiny Kinto'un flying along the bottom. And that's it!
It's kinda like in Naruto (if you watch it). They often air a new opening sequence, and then several episodes later they air the "fixed" version of that opening (which are usually just some slight tweaks here and there).

At the time they had aired the Cell Saga trice or something on Cartoon Network, I had gotten the Lord Slug movie, the "Z Store" commercial had two scenes with Goku and Majin Vegeta fighting which I marveled over, being the dubbie, but still obsessive fangirl I was back then. "Looky! Why are Goku and Vegeta fighting?" and "Oh my god! Vegeta has a new outfit!" and especially "What the hell?! Goku still has a halo! I don't get it! How's that possible if Vegeta doesn't? Are they in Other World? It looks like Earth! Why's he even there?! I'M SO CONFUSED~!" Yeah, I was hyperactive as a kid. . . still kid. Ya. . . @_@;

Someone came up to me and said "Is that some kind of fake DBZ shirt? I don't know those characters!" It made me laugh.
For my birthday, when the Android Saga had just started airing, I got a Buu Saga Krillin doll for my birthday. Being a dubbie, I was all ". . . . What the hell?! THIS ISN"T KRILLIN! HE'S BALD!! The toy companies are evil! THEY KILLED KRILLIN!" Due to this action figure, I was granted insites on the future through a dream I had, with Super Saiyan 3 Goku in it. . . Yeah, that's a whole other topic.

FUNimation's marketing team sucked back in the day [though they've only improved a tiny bit,] though I still think their crowning achievements in DragonBall marketing were with the Cell arc. The previews for it are the only ones I think were well done.

Hyperactivity translating into the way one types equals painful reading. Heh.

Thank FUNimation for trying to pimp aspects of DragonBall that we wouldn't be seeing for another 2 years. Though I wouldn't mock them, since the toy lines sold badly.

Dreams lie. Also an elipsis has no spaces in it. ['...']

I think that had more to do with Freeza coming with a rocket launcher and Kuririn coming with a machine gun, though. I know I had a Goten figure who came with a katana.

You've got to be kidding me. Freeza with a rocket launcher? They really sold that bullshit?

I bought a couple of those... horrible. I wish they were more aposable, 'cause the Super Saiyajin Goku that I have is actually decent [in the way it looks.]

I think those figures got a UK release. I remember seeing them in shops but didn't bother to buy them because they didn't look overly great.
As soon as I took to DBZ, I went online and tried to read up about it and I quickly learnt about things like SSj3. Wish I hadn't.

I did much the same thing, however I never saw any pictures [short of the figurine] of SSJ3 Goku, so when I bought one- I thought... "Damn, SSJ3 is weird looking." however, when the episodes aired on Cartoon Network, I kind of changed my tune, since it does look quite a bit better in the anime than on the figurine.
Also, the figurine is heavy as hell... anyone who owns one can note the weight compared to other figures of it's size; especially compared to those figure's that are available now [the quite large ones, that equal in height to most standard pc monitors. I forget the the exact height though] I remember remarking on it's weight to my cousin when I got it... we had a good laugh.

I don't think I learnt everything in one go. I didn't really know much about the SSj transformation until Goku actually transformed. But almost certainly during the wait for the Android eps, I learnt pretty much all there was to know about DBZ bar a few things.

I managed to keep myself from looking everything up myself. Not until after Goku went Super Saiya-jin on Namek did I even start looking, and then only at bits and peices. I knew there were other levels before the Androids showed up, and shortly after Cell appeared I learned about Gohan being the one to beat him. Other than that, I only had snipets that told me things that had to happen, but not how.
Like, I knew Vegeta went Majin, that there was a Super Buu, Fat Buu, and Kid Buu. I knew about Fusion (both Gotenks and Vegetto), about Mystic Gohan, etc... but most of this was from the ROMs I'd found. So, while I knew that Vegeta was dead while a living Goku fought Kid Buu even though Goku should have been the one dead and Vegeta the one alive, I didn't know HOW it all happened...

XD Actually, I don't think I really ever really had the dream. I think it was something my mind made up subconsciously to annoy me after I saw Goku go Super Saiyan 3 in the dub. Dang it, my brain's just so annoying.
It's funny, though. With the internet, I knew about SSJ4 Gogeta before I ever heard about Gotenks.

Actually, that's not true. I saw a Gotenks doll at K-mart around the same time I got my Krillin w/ hair figure, but I still had no idea who Gotenks (or even who Goten) was. And Vegetto? Who's that? All they were ever talking about was Gogeta from GT.
