I actually prefer the Double Features remastering to the Dragon Box remastering. The colours are brighter and there's less grain.
That's exactly why I don't like the double features better. While nowhere near how horrible the season sets look, I think it looks bad.

That's a pretty good example of the remastered sets' issues, actually. Look at Goku's undershirt, for example. In the Dragon Box footage you can see clearly distinct areas of blue and black, but due to the remastered set's saturation levels, it's just all-black. Plus, when looking at the city behind them, you can see how it's blurred in the remastered, too.

Can anyone tell me if the Madman releases of the double features as good as the US ones visually? I've been thinking about picking them up, but I've read on here that Madmans releases dont look as a good as their US counterparts. I already have the singles (Madman) so if the Aus double features are sub par I'll prolly give them a miss and wait to see if the movies get a Dragonbox Z release.

The Madman double features look exactly the same visually to their U.S counterparts.

The flaws are even more apparent in the bluray release..

Much like the season sets, the double features are hit-and-miss. Movies 3 and 4, if I recall correctly, looked the worst outta the bunch. Most of them look all right, though.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Why are you always saying this? I know it's all opinion but still. I think objectively, Movie 8 looked far worse than any of the movies. The colors were bleached as hell and it was the blurriest. Movies 3 & 4 look good, they just look different from the Dragon Boxes.

Crap, did I already say that over here? Obviously Movie 8 looks the worst, being the first release, but after seeing Movies 1 & 2 turn out pretty good I was really disappointed in Movie 3.

I always thought the cooler movies were the best, but dude they're remastered the same way.
FUNi was given some pretty bad masters for these.

No they're not. Some are blurrier than others, and in Movies 1, 2, 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13 they barely blurred it at all.

Indeed, the DVR applied was selective depending on the movie. I'm actually surprised that the first two weren't the ones that had the most applied, considering I'd imagine the print they were given for those would be the oldest of the bunch.

If we do get a Dragon Box for the movies (which Funi acquired rights to), how many boxes will they be in?
Would they be in one box like the Japanese version?
Oh and while I'm talking about movies (a little off-topic, I'm sorry), is there a box set for all of the Dragon Ball movies?
All of them together (I think there is 4), or do they have to bought separately?

Nothing has been confirmed yet.

There was a box released by FUNimation containing DB movies 2, 3 and 4.

Which is better quality etc., ''First Strike'', or the one mention by Piccolo Daimaoh?

The "First Strike" boxset Goku100xKamehameha mentioned actually contains the first three DBZ movies.

The one mentioned by Piccolo Daimaoh contains DragonBall movies 2, 3, and 4.

I might pick ''First Strike'' up then!
So you have to buy the fourth movie separate?

If you want the original four DragonBall movies you have to buy the movies 2, 3, and 4 boxset. The First Strike boxset is first three Z movies. If you want the Z movies I'd advise buying the Double Features or wait for possible Dragon Box versions.
