It's a bit blurrier. Also, I vaguely recall some complaints about how it looks in motion, but I could be making that up.

I'm mainly hyped because a GT DBox would mean they have no excuse not to do DB boxes.

It probably doesn't come through in the screenshots, but some of Funimation's singles look like their masters were dipped into a box of sandpaper and magnets. The grain can get really bad in motion. There are also some really distracting instances of damage and macro blocking. I think most of the poorer footage is found at the beginning and end of the releases for some reason.

Considering:
FUNimation said nothing about owning the right to GT's Dragon Box
FUNimation hasn't done ANYTHING to do any advertising

I say this is just Season 1 and 2 together.

I know it's a stretch, no doubt. It probably is more likely just the green bricks in one package but considering the DBZ Dragon Box came out of left field, perhaps even for FUNi, then it wouldn't be out of the question that this was an 11th hour acquisition and application.

I agree. While a Dragon Box release would be the only way I'd pick up a new release of GT, I think people are really setting themselves up for disappointment here. In the event that it is a Dragon Box release then it is, most definitely, awesome but FUNimation has done multiple repackagings of animé in the past. Fullmetal Alchemist, for example, with the four "Season X, Part Y" boxes simply including the discs and the books from the singles. I'm not sure if the "Complete Season X" releases are just the same with new slim case packaging, as I didn't see any reason to buy the sets when I already had the four previous boxes.

I wouldn't be surprised if GT receives the Dragon Box treatment before Dragon Ball, as it would mirror FUNimation's release of the season sets, including overlapping the GT release almost in the middle of the DBZ release schedule.

I don't know why everyone's thinking that just because FUNimation is releasing Z in Dragon Box format, they have to release the rest of the series in Dragon Box format. They went to all the trouble to release Z in Dragon Box format because that's most people's favourite portion of the series. Not enough people actually like GT to justify FUNimation releasing that portion of the series in Dragon Box format. The green boxes are still in stores and selling well, FUNimation doesn't want to risk losing money with the GT Dragon Boxes.

Besides, if this were a GT Dragon Box, wouldn't there be the words "Dragon Box" somewhere on that listing?

It just doesn't make sense to me though, double packs of Dragon Ball Z orange bricks for sale in stores makes sense, for the causal customer to see it and think it's a good deal. But the people who buy off of Rightstuf.com are generally not casual Anime fans, and can probably figure out that if you add the two green bricks together, it's would be the same price as buying a double pack.

They might announce it this summer at an Anime convention, maybe it's just a tease, especially since I haven't heard back form FUNimation after I tweeted them, emailed them, Facebook, etc. And I wouldn't assume that the majority of people don't like it, even if that's true, hardcore fans would still buy this set just because of the rarity. If FUNimation does release this, it should be special order only.

Maybe not. If they're trying to play up the "complete series" angle with this release, then that aspect might take priority in any labeling or advertising, even over the possibility that it's Dragon Box footage being used.

Besides, the entire GT series in one package? What else would it be BUT a Dragon Box? Time will tell, I suppose.

As been suggested before many times in this thread, it could be the two green bricks together in one box set.

That doesn't explain the price discrepency. EX showed it's the same as the two sets combined, which isn't marketable as a complete series set (I don't see buyers going "OMG!!! 2 for the price of 2.003? What a saving!"). Meanwhile, there's also a substancial runtime discrepency that conveniently matches that of the DBox.

Though to be fair, I could easily see them tacking on the Jump Special as "The Really Lost Episode."

I thought everyone else was stating that the run-time was far greater or different than the Japanese GT box... :?

No, they said it was greater than the Season set runtime, while it was the same as the DBox runtime.

Ah, I see. The mass confusion of this thread makes it hard to keep track of things sometimes.

That would be a pretty big coincidence if it was just a mistake...

Like someone brought up earlier, this reminds me when the first orange brick was posted on Amazon and RightStuf but FUNimation didn't release any information about it until months later. If it is Dragon Box GT, I hope that's what's going on here.

On the other hand, it'll be hilarious if this is just the green bricks in one set, used by FUNimation to test the waters for and fund a future release of Dragon Box GT.

A GT Dragon Box put out BEFORE a Dragon Ball one? I vomit in terror at the thought of such blasphemy.

I'm not even giong to BEGIN to even think of a legit reason why the order releases matter as to what you would like.

Any Dbox release is a good thing, no matter if DB or GT comes first.

That is the same way the colored "Bricks" were introduced,
1)Dragon Ball Z
2)Dragon Ball GT
3)Dragon Ball

So it makes sense to me that they will release it the same way, especially since the blue bricks are not even all out yet! (That would make fans mad wouldn't it :D )

Exactly, Dragonball hasnt even finished its Brickset run, wheres your vomiting from ""blasphemy"" there?

Since they didn't go in order to start with, why would it matter now?

I'm mainly hoping its the Dragon Box because I really wanted for the GT version to be one release and not two. Ideally this release will be the complete GT Dragon Box including the TV special "A Hero's Legacy", worst case is of course its just a combined release of the Green Bricks. I'm pretty sure Funimation is going to be hush hush about it for a few months to not upset the people who really want the Dragon Boxes.
