Future Kai DUB Re-casts speculation

I've always liked Eric Vale, but his delivery in the latest Dragon Box Z trailer (4) was terrible, in my opinion. I hope they get it right in Kai, because his voice is charming, at least. Anyways, Fat Buu absolutely must go. Eww.

Others who I feel should be replaced:

2. All 5 Ginyu members
3. Babidi
4. Adult Gohan
5. All forms of Buu
6. 16
7. 1st and 2nd form Cell
8. Kid Trunks

...and I'm sure there are others that I'm not currently thinking of.

Missed opportunities:

6. Kaio (how could they leave this one?!)

Voices that I like (now):

1. Piccolo (never thought I'd say this, but Sabat has really given new life to him. He actually sounds like a real person and not an overly-gruff character. Congrats! ....Although, it's still not the Piccolo that I'd personally cast. =P)

Huh. I kind of like Kyle Hebert's teen/adult Gohan. In fact, I've liked pretty much everyone who's played the role: Nozawa, Swaile, and Hebert. I also liked Kid Trunks and Babidi.

I'd definitely like to hear a different Android 16, or at least a less generic robot sounding one.

Hey... I tried. Haha. I suppose you could say that it's just the complete opposite of how I would've done it. Like I said though, it is all just my opinion and I'm content with the Japanese version of the show.

16 had a different voice actor in Raging Blast I believe... maybe they'll use him?

Although I hope they don't... he was fucking awful, even more robotic and monotone

Y'know I was going to make a list but the only character I can think of that desperately needs a recast is Recoome. 19 needs the filter taken off his voice for sure though. I also would hope Boo stops the baby talk, it's just kind of annoying to me personally. Really I think it's more about who needs to tweak their voices as opposed to major recasts. I kind of hope 2nd form Cell is toned down a notch too. I think 16's voice itself is fine he just needs different voice direction.

The Kai cast is really impressing me I have to say. Even voices like Kaio have been tweaked to the point where I can stomach them.

It's really hard to determine who would voice the Ginyu Force if all of them are re-casted. Since Townsley is back as Cui, he might play Guldo, and Vic might actually play Burter for real now. Bruce Elliot could make a good Ginyu, and Bryan Massey could be a fine Recoome, but FUNimation might go with some guys they haven't used yet.

Mountain: How can you hate Gohan's new VA? I always thought Nadolny was terrible for the character.. Just couldn't stand the poor acting I guess.
I hope they keep Eric as Trunks, but he needs to drastically change the voice and I'm very confident that he can pull it off.

As for the Ginyu Corps, REPLACE THEM!!!

I always liked sean as Goku and he's be playing the character well in Kai, as for Sabats roles they've all improved to the point that they ARE the character. His Vegeta at times really impresses me, in Z it was awful but it's just more impressive in Kai. Piccolo sounds fantastic! As for Kaio-Sama he took more of a comical voice which is still correct, he doesn't need a deep voice if it's comical which the character is. Both English and Japanese got him right!

I would have Changed Yamucha but even sabat fixed him to a point that he's playing the character.

Oh... believe me, I didn't like Nadolny's Son Gohan either. I hated it, in fact. The new Gohan is actually quite decent when talking, but the screaming can get a little annoying.

Really? I thought all of these were okay, albeit I wish Cell had one consistent voice.

Oh and you get your wish, Chris confirmed that the Ginyu Force will now have an "All Star" cast.

What really got to me were her "distressed sounds" when she played young Gohan. "WUUAH-HAHAHUEEEHHU" she sounded like Arnold Schwarzenegger on helium. Only difference with Arnold, it was unintentionally hilarious and part of his charm. With Nadolny, just plain embarrassing to listen to.

Also, I just watched the Dbox 4 trailer. I agree the narration isn't very good, but I have no doubts that Eric Vale will provide a more fitting portrayal for Trunks in Kai. Remember Chris Sabat on the first two trailers, compared to what he's doing in Kai? It's a huge difference.

Besides, I doubt they're putting very much effort into the narration for these trailers, whereas Chris Sabat seems pretty invested into directing Kai properly.

I guess thinking back now, McFarland's voice for Dodoria would've sounded very Yaijirobe-like. He wasn't in Raging Blast, so voice-matching Forbis for that game didn't cause any confusion. Zarbon's new guy will be on Monday.

Suppose tomorrow we will find out whether FUNimation's Twitter, or Kirbopher is more reliable.

Either way, it just adds to my anticipation for upcoming episodes.
