There are currently no reliable sources that name anyone as a replacement for 18 (or really, pretty much ANY character who hasn't appeared yet, except perhaps Cell), regardless of who it is. I'd like to have Meredith McCoy back, although if that isn't possible, Stephanie Young would be a totally acceptable replacement judging from Robin in One Piece.

Anyway, episode 20 clips are up on Nicktoons site, but they keep redirecting me to random clips from other episodes...

When it changes clips, hit the back button. From there I typically change the clip number in the url to get to the next clip.

Well based off this recent episode I think it's safe to say this version of Freeza sounds most like the Ocean Dub version. Which is kind of strange considering Linda Young's Freeza wasn't much different. What's the point of recasting? Although I did particularly like this VA's laugh. It sounded pretty close to the original Freeza's laugh, so that's a big plus.

Zarbon's new voice is pretty good, and I like the change in Dodoria's as well. However, I did notice Kui's new voice sounds way too much like Elder Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho.

It was pretty funny though, when he suggested that they should team up to defeat Freeza, he made it sound like a drunken rant. "Hey man, crazy idea! Let's team up to defeat Freeza..." Lol

And for some reason Sabat appears to be quite inconsistent with his voice acting. In this episode it was like his voice from the remastered version, very annoying and sand papered. So I don't know what the deal is. He sounded a lot better in the previous episode. :/

Lulz dunno how.

Sorry to waste the excruciatingly long amount of time it took you to read a single word.

Episode 20 made me drool over the new Freeza.

Broke down and bought the BD this weekend after finding out the next Dragon Box isn't coming until September. The script totally brings up the quality of this dub, to the point that the original version is just an afterthought. I've seen Z so many times and am currently watching the Japanese dub on the Dragon Box release that watching the dub for the Kai release is a welcome change of pace. Never thought I would prefer watching a Dragon Ball dub to the original version

Is it bad that at the beginning of the episode I was expecting Gokou to request a button that makes blueberry muffins...?

Anyways, I feel like the Saiyajin Saga was just a warm-up for Kai...now that the actors are getting more comfortable I'm starting to really notice improvements. Gohan has improved by leaps and bounds since the first few episodes, and I was actually even kinda happy with Schemmel in the beginning of the episode as well ('for cryin' out loud I need to leave, like, y-yesterday!!'). I also just noticed - they've switched full-time to the proper word for these green people, 'Namekians', and aren't calling them 'Nameks' anymore. I always hated that.

Also, wow...is it weird that Ayres is starting to sound like Ursula from The Little Mermaid to me...and I think it works really well? I'm more and more impressed with this recast the more I hear it. I can't even believe I'm praising it so much...I never imagined I'd be so pleased with a dub of Dragonball. Something must be wrong with me...or this dub is just being handled really well. :D

Judging from the clips of the next episode on Nicktoons' site it's safe to assume that Dende is getting a new voice.

Really liking the new Freeza. The dialogue and delivery today was just spot on.

Oh, btw, this clip has Ayres' Freeza yelling, if you want to see how he handles that.

Heh when screaming he kind of sounds like Invader Zim.

Probably for the best, when playing Budokai Tenkaichi 3 again recently, while I was in the options menu, I swear he sounded just like Kid Trunks.

Pretty good, but even in the Japanese version I don't think that was a scene where Frieza has one of those crazy Nakao screams, so I'm waiting for a scene where Frieza absolutely loses it! :)

For realz? I loved Dende's dub voice. Man, there are a lot more Kai recasts than I expected.

As long as they don't cast Justin Bieber so he can sing some songs for the soundtrack I'll be happy...

That would actually be pretty cool.

He could pull off a voice similar to Aya :P

Did Dende really need recasting?

Hell, I liked Funimation's original Dende, Ceyli Delgadillo (also my favorite English dub kid Goku) and Laura Bailey was also good.
