So...

There was an interview with Justin Chatwin where he argued with the reporter over whether or not Goku was asian or caucasian? Maybe I got lost somewhere.

There's no evidence to suggest that Saiyans should look Asian. Because they have black hair and dark eyes? Lots of races have those features.

Who's to say that on the Saiyans' homeworld there weren't climates and environments similar to the ones on Earth that gave Asians their own unique phenotypes?

It can already be logically inferred that the location the story starts out in is Dragon World's version of Asia, and by effect the people of said location would be it's version of Asians.

The fact that nobody was surprised by any of Goku's phenotypes, save for the tail, suggests that Saiyans and "Asians" may have a vast amount of the same phenotypes.

The only real logical explanation given all of this is that the Saiyans developed in similar climates to Asians, giving them such a similar appearance that the two wouldn't be able to be told apart.

Clutching at straws I know, but there's nothing that says otherwise, and it serves as a retcon (albeit a fanon one) that could resolve the entire argument, though I may have missed something.

I'd say a small handful of characters from the entire Dragon ball manga come off as Asian, and Goku is not one of them.
