Also, Kuririn's line at the end of the episode..."it's times like these that I really wish I had a mother to call"...I seriously thought he was going to go for the shoe salesman line. I have a feeling that was kinda intentional >_>;
The shoe salesman line comes when Frieza transforms into his third form.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

So... Call in Johnny Yong Bosch? :P

I'm still hoping for Kyle as Captain Ginyu, simply because of Kamina.

Although Kirbopher said he only knows Burter and Guldo so far, right? I took his "Not quite. :B" as being a "I honestly know nothing about Ginyu yet. Only the other two."

Those two lines made me cringe. Dende's because it directly contradicted what he just said and Kuririn's because it was just plain stupid.

Funimation writers are truly witless.

Wouldn't he just say "not sure" then? Not quite would mean that it isn't, in fact, Hebert.

Dende's line may be altered for the DVD release if it's brought to FUNimation's attention, and Krillin's line seems to be a "censored" version of the "I wish I had a girlfriend/got married".

I think by not quite he means someone else from the Gurren Lagann dub will be playing Ginyu. It's not quite Kamina.

I feel weird saying this since I haven't seen Gurren Lagann dubbed or otherwise...

I'm kind of confused, why do you guys think they censored "I wish I had a girlfriend"? I don't see what's wrong with that phrase.

I doubt this, as that dub was done in California.

But a Quentyn Flynn/Kittan Ginyu would kick so much ass.

Especially since characters in Avatar, also airing on Nicktoons, have romantic relationships, and even kiss.

Also, Kyle Hebert is a good VA, but was a subpar Kamina.

That's a possibility too. It wouldn't be as cool, but it would be as cool as the fact that Krillin's Japanese actress is in the Japanese One Piece, and his FUNimation dub actor is in the FUNimation dub of One Piece, despite playing a different role.

Because it's Nicktoons/4Kids! and I'm pretty sure I recall him mentioning the whole girlfriend running gag in that scene. I think he even mentioned it in the Season Two dub as well.

I believe the line in the redub went something like "Oh who am I kidding, I'm gonna get creamed out there. I'm gonna die and I never even had a girlfriend." Not exact words but it's what I remember.

One of us should get on that then. :P Seriously though, do you think it might have been some kind of stupid edit done on purpose for the tv version? I can't really think of a good reason for it though as they pretty much left in Bulma's "one gender would be boring" line.

I seriously can't imagine how they didn't notice that.

Considering the brilliant handling of Freeza dialogue, witless seems a little harsh for what appears to be a minor fuck up. I assume the married line will be in the uncut version too.

I think that Gurd should just make roaring noises since he really doesn't say anything of importance.

It's still pretty bad that Dende used "sisters" and then said there weren't any females a moment later.

Maybe some Nameks are gender confused.

*pictures a Namekian in a wig, dress, and with makeup on* ...XD

But yeah, most likely it's an edited line. Maybe Bulma asked if some of their people have boobs. Could be something they might want to censor, I suppose.

Well, I suppose technically, saying "sisters" isn't any more or less accurate than "brothers" in this case... you know, since they really don't have any gender at all.

While "sisters" isn't wrong at all compared to "brothers", "brothers and sisters" implies that there are two genders. If by any chance Funi pick up on this before the DVD thanks to fan realization, the gender neutral "siblings" would be a good alternative?
