Which will you get Dragon Ball Z Kai Part 2 or Dragon Box 4?

Since I made a post for Dragon Box 3 and Part 1 similar to this, I was wondering what people on the forums were going to get. We already know what the Kai dub is like and it is extraordinary and the Dragon Boxes are the best Dragon Ball release FUNimation has probably put out. I'm going to get Dragon Box 4 personally since I feel like I should complete a collection I've already started. Will you guys get both or will it only be one of them?

I'm gonna get Dragon Box 4 first. Actually, I'm gonna get all of the Dragon Boxes before I get any Kai. If I don't, I'll be watching the Dragon Boxes, and Kai will be sitting there unopened.

I'll get Dragon Box 4 first. I'm not really interested in Kai at the moment. After all the Dragon Boxes have been released, I'll pick up Kai.

Since they're coming out at the same time, it largely depends on what I'm in the mood for at the moment I go to buy and if I've already gotten one of them for my birthday. I'll likely get both within a couple weeks of each other, though, so it's not a huge decision on my part. I don't generally buy new stuff often enough for it to break my bank.

I think neither. I was all set for Kai over DBoxes, but because of the price, I still haven't picked the first one up. Maybe I'll get a "complete season 1" of Kai, if it ever comes out.

I'm thinking both, eventually. The appeal of each version for me is completely different, after all. DragonBoxes for the complete, authoritative Dragon Ball Z experience and "collector's value," and Kai for the watchability, pacing, and awesome-new-dub hotness.

I was hoping FUNimation would sell one of them early at Otakon like they do with other releases. But, it is a huge gap between the release date and Otakon so... maybe not.

To answer the question though, I'll probley end up buying DragonBall Z Kai Part 2 on DVD and Blu-ray on the release date and save the DragonBox for another day. I'm really eager to start up the TV edit comparison topic again.

I will buy Dragon Box 4, eventually, I've noticed with each Dragon Box release comes a complaint of some kind, the gel not present on the 3rd box, or the top of the box's paper glue peeling off. My previous Dragon Boxes came in perfect condition, so I'm going to wait a while before ordering Dragon Box 4. I'd get DBZ Kai Part 2, but I'm craving for the Dragon Box more.

Well, I'm kind of hoping to get both, but the 'Box 4 is at the top of my priority list for sure so I know I'll be getting that one. I'll probably wait a bit on Kai Part 2, to see if it goes on sale anywhere.

Dragon Box definitely. I've been getting them before release since their majesty was announced, and I'm not going to stop now as I've been altogether satisfied with their greatness and necessity. Kai... probably never, or at least not until they make a release with the proper title cards and credits! BLAARARHGHGHAKEIFK!!!

Same here, I got every single Kai dvd and Dragon Box before they came out. Well except for DragonBox 3, but hey, it was getting prepared to get to my house before it came out so that counts, right?!

Not sure if I want to pickup Dragon Box vol.4, I might wait till vol.5 comes out and get them both together. If there is a good price on Rightstuf or a great one on Amazon I may pick it up. As for Kai I'm going to wait till they get to the frezza saga to start on that one.

I feel somewhat similar. The DragonBox has a type of nostalgia and quality to it that, when it comes to the original Dragonball Z as it was originally produced, cannot be surpassed. It's a classic and I can't deny it even if I do hate (most) filler.

If I feel like watching it with an updated feel, a pace I like better, and a dub that doesn't kill my ears Kai is the way to go. I've had a lot of fun watching it on TV lately.

I will get the Dragon Box 4 first. I'm not even going to buy anything Kai until the Dragonbox is all out.

I will get both, for reasons others have already mentioned. Dragonbox for the definitive Z, and Kai for the faster pace + superior dub. I've decided both have a place in my personal collection.

The Dragon Boxes are priority, but when I start to collect Kai, it will be with volume 2, because the Namek material can be a bit tough to navigate, and sometimes I might feel like going the Kai route.
