He is one of the more interesting characters, with far deeper mental background, if you a) ignore movie 10 (11 doesn't count as it's not even him) and b) don't dumb movie 8 down because you either don't like the character or expect him to have as dumb a basis as the other movie villains. Tapion's the only movie original character that had more work put into him than Broly.

Ah -- I guess I haven't watched all that many of the movies so I don't have many other movie villains for comparison. I mean, I don't think Broly is an especially uninteresting character at all (given that he's a movie character, rather than a regular show character -- I guess he does have quite a lot of background). I don't have a problem with him. Maybe I should go watch movie 8 again; it's been a few years. Anyway, I wasn't trying to bash on him or anything. I guess I was just thinking that if/as he changes from a "movie character" type level of involvement to a "regular character" type level of involvement, the dimensionality they portray for him (since I think it's perfectly agreeable to say that he has such dimensionality "in him," so to speak) should increase as well. But I'm thinking too much into it. XD I am reading this comic solely for the purpose of seeing various fun fights, after all...

I don't think Broly has more depth/background than say, Cooler or Hirudegarn. I find his backstory especially uninteresting, nonsensical and generally contrived. Like for example, hating Goku because he cried his ass off. How does one even remember that? He may talk a lot but that doesn't mean what he's saying has any depth or meaning. its just cliche villain lines that tell us nothing about who Broly is. All we really knew about him in Movie 8 was that he was supposedly the Legendary Super Saiyan, that Goku's crying drove him nuts, that King Vegeta tried to assassinate him and left him and his father for dead, then he somehow got off the planet in time. Then we find out he has no real skills or techniques of his own, besides maybe those green ki blasts. But the fight itself dragged on way too long and seemed like a wrestler strongman vs 4 Bruce Lees. I would like to know more about the LSSJ concept and form than Broly as a baby. I likened it to the Halloween remake. Why give evil personified a reason? Frieza and Cooler had no backstory, no reason. But their personalities and lines made them such badass and interesting characters.

Eg. Frieza: one moment i especially like. Being all polite to Nail, then beating the crap out of him.
Cooler: his entrance in movie 6. Something like "My Cyclonian Guards don't talk much. But if they did, what would you really expect them to say?" So badass and metaphorical, and establishes Cooler as an intelligent...alien thing.

Now Broly.
"Monster? No, I am the devil!" Wait I thought you were a Saiyan? Cliche villain line.
"Is that another word for coffin?" Maybe he was mocking Goku, but to me it came off as forced and stupid.
The infamous "KAKAROOOOOTTTT!" Need i say more?

Do you think Goku has an Abridged Frieza style villain line count? Like:
Villain : I'm invincible! Bwahaha!
Goku: 497.
Villain: No mere mortal has a chance! My power is the greatest in the universe!
Goku: 81.
Villain: Um...DIE FUCKFACE!
Goku: Hehe.....12.

How much and what kind of work is involved in the translation process? If it's just 5-10 pages and all I do is write a word bubble script in Word, I'd be willing to do the French translations for them.

Well, I also volunteered to help them in the English correction if they needed an extra hand, but Salagir said that they already have more than one people doing that and too many people would be counterproductive. So, I don`t know if they want more people, but you can always ask.

As for the work itself, the translator only has to write down the translation of what is given to him/her.

DEFINITELY counter-productive! Depending how many pages in advance it's done, you want one, maybe two, top. This explains why it's all over the place: some of the translators are clearly better than others.

I wonder if I should still contact them. Salagir asked me a loooooooong time ago if I'd be interested, back when I think he himself was doing all of them. I was simply too busy back then.

@Scarz: That is fucking amazing (pun intended)! You really draw well, too! Do you do hentai as well, or only in gag-manga context like this?
