Updates
2nd July (2nd, and final update)
So, it's all over! I managed to create my environment, and got a good grade for it. But I also coupled it with a short animation.
Though my environment could be for anything, the animation did have a few boundaries. It was to be a commercial for a media company called "Little Green Man" media company. Outside of that, you could do anything.
I also had to make a few tweaks to the environment itself. My tutor told me the environment was great, but the idea itself was holding me back (The amount of nothingness surrounding my room was really holding the grade back), so I needed to accompany it with a sky + floor to create a horizon). Also, for my animation to be rendered on time, I had to remove a lot of effects that made my room look as good as it did, so you're gonna notice a big drop in quality. Oh, and I quoted you guys (that's right, everybody who's posted) in my final evaluation, hope that's cool.
Anyway, to see my animation, click here.
June 24th (1st update)
With this post, the room as an environment is almost done! But there's an animation to show you guys yet, I'll most likely be making this update in several days. Anyway, let me show you what's changed.
I've added a lot of props to the inside of the room, this includes table and chairs, drawn curtains + a bed hidden behind them, a shelf, a door, pottery scattered about the place and a few clocks. Oh, speaking of clocks, I added a clock hand to the clock-face outside of the room too!
Updated inside

As well as the inside, I've also added a thick layer of fog to the outside, which (when animated) crawls up the steps of the room (though it never enters the structure itself, restricted by the height of the BoxGizmo
Angle shot of the fog.

A full shot of the room itself

I know it doesn't seem much, but the little things require just as much attention as the big things (even if you can't seem them very well.. maybe I'm just a perfectionist, who knows). I've been toying around with a layer of general mist lately, but I didn't know where to add it or not for the finished product, so I think I'll just leave it out for now.
Let me know what you think!
June 22nd (original post)
So here's the situation guys, I have 2 weeks until I come to the deadline for my 3D project animation and environment project.
Yeah, I decide to start working now, typical me.
Anyway, for my project, I chose to recreate The Room of Spirit and Time in 3DS Max, with a short animation infront of the room.
For the room itself I didn't go too into detail on the inside (perhaps if I started work earlier, I'd be able to but me being me, this is all I got so far.
Remember, this project is unfinished, and though I've studied a lot in regards to 3DS Max, I've not had many chances to do much practical work.
I'll update any major changes in this thread, but for now this is what I have:
Room in several working perspectives

Render from the front

Render from Perspective

Render from Top

Render from Left

Let me know what you think guys!
