Awesome! So, how long would I have to wait for a package from Amazon.com? The same time as .co.uk?
All depends from everything I've imported 2-2.5 weeks is the norm if you go with the cheapest shipping, but I've waited 3.5 weeks for Joey season 2.
Saying that I had a dragon box in like 1.5 weeks.
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

 Yes
I kind of thought hmm I'll get friends, bought all 10 seasons £10 each watched them all about 2-3 years ago in the summer holidays then I saw Joey season "the friends follow up" So I got it then just to be a completist I heard about season2 which never saw a UK release so I had to import it, it was my first import. Even though my parents imported me the pokemon gold & silver games.
It's only in the last 2-3 months I've imported the DB DBZ DBGT season sets and Dragon Boxes and steelbooks. Up untill then I thought there was only 276 episodes, although now I miss Kuririn's different voices as I always used to think the Voice actor whom played him must of had a cold when they dubbed the Namek bit & I thought before namek and after he didn't but it turns out there's this whole different reason.
Something about an Ocean :) / Funimation :) Voice cast? :)

I had to cave and grab Dragon Box 2 and 3 from Best Buy. $22.99 each was too good to pass up when they were just sitting there on the shelf. Don't know when I'll ever have the time to actually watch the series again, though.

What confuses me is why not the first volume? I found it really bizarre seeing the three lined up with the first one priced at $59.99. They can't possibly be moving stock at that price.

Yeah, it failed since it was out of character for Joey and he couldn't talk to women.

Something about an Ocean :) / Funimation :) Voice cast? :)
Ah yeah, there's two dubs of DBZ...
Ocean Group:
Originally headed by FUNimation, they first dubbed the Saiyan and Namek sagas (although heavily edited)
Unfortunately, it was cancelled and it was picked up by Cartoon Network.
So seeing it was on a cable channel, FUNi decided to no longer use Saban/Ocean and dubbed Freeza-Kid Buu themselves.
Meanwhile, Westwood Media decided to hire out Ocean to dub the Android-Kid Buu sagas, skipping Freeza, Garlic Jr. and the first few episodes of the Trunks saga. Although it had potential of being a better dub (don't chase after me, Ocean Group fans ), since they had previously dubbed some Gundam series, it was rushed, and uh, wasn't that good when compared to FUNimation's (the scripts were the same, though)
This is the dub that was on Cartoon Network UK/CNX/Toonami UK, you can't get DVDs of it, though

Funimation:
This is the Freeza-Kid Buu dub that was on Toonami in the US, they later dubbed Saiyan and Namek by themselves.
The uncut version of this dub is the English Track included on the Dragon Box

Nope, in the UK I think we got Ocean only up untill some point on Namek, then we had Funimations for the rest of the series, I know they later dubbed more, but those weren't aired in the UK.

I contest your version of events, sir. With the exception of season 3 we got Ocean for the entire series.

Did we? I swear we had the same goku all the way through from around Frieza / super saiyan onwards. Now I really want to see the Gohan/cell fight dubbed by ocean to see what it was like. :)

Yeah, 'Dragon, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball ZEEEEE' was only used in the Ocean Dub

Also, I heard (from an Ocean Dub Fanboy, so it's probably wrong) that we got the Fusion Saga dubbed by FUNi, but CNX reran it using the Ocean Dub later

There's probably clips on YouTube

Also, we got 4 Goku's

Saiyan Saga: Ian James Corlett
Namek Saga: Peter Kelamis
Freeza-Garlic Jr.: Sean Schemmel
Android-Cell Saga: Peter Kelamis
Cell Games-Kid Buu Saga: Kirby Morrow

You're both wrong.
We had a really funny story of dub switching in the UK, and consistency with voices wasn't the show's strong point. For us in the UK, it went like this:
Like anybody else, it started with Ocean.

Saiyan: Ocean

Namek (up to the Goku vs Butta+Jheese): Ocean

Then there came the switch, the one that everybody got, the US, Canada, everyone.

Rest of Namek + Freeza: FUNimation

Garlic.Jr: FUNimation

Trunks: FUNimation

But for the UK, FUNimation's dub was short lived, and we got the old voices back! A curse for some, a blessing for others.

Artificial Humans: Ocean

Cell: Ocean

Saiyaman + Tenka-Ichi Budokai: Ocean

Majin Boo: Ocean

Super Boo: Ocean

But here we go again, the ol' switcheroo. See at this point, we got a new channel called CNX. Basically Cartoon Network's new channel for anime. I could rag on all day about how fucking amazing CNX was, and that after it switched to Toonami, Cartoon Network started to suck, but I'll save it.

Fusion: FUNimation

And, in a shocking/confusing turn of events, yet another switch (thankfully the last one).

Pure Boo: Ocean

There you have it, for the UK's first run, that is exactly how it went. The 2nd run seemed to fix the problems that were caused by the CNX switch. This coming to you from the memory of an eager child who ran home to slam a tape in the VCR and record this shit. :)

EDIT: Damnit, I was beat to it!

Really? I liked Toonami, when they ran marathons from 8AM to like 4PM of DBZ, I recorded them on VCR, then switched them to tesco dvds :) I had to cheap out and go for tesco which is why like 3 out of 25 are already broke :(.
I know I watched around half the episodes from the original run, but then I recorded the entire series the second time it ran, and Kuririn was the one who I always thought was way too different every so many episodes.
Do you know who dubbed the movies that were shown on toonami, such as "battle of 3 super saiyans" which i know was super android 13 "super saiyan goku" which I know is supposed to be lord slug etc because those were aweful voices.
The only thing that upset me with the entire UK run was we never saw a dvd release apart from 3 movies, which sounded terrible.

Toonami started to suck after it lost the rights to DBZ and started to show Parker Lewis Can't Lose and Life With Derek.

At least you got that cast back. Sure, there were inconsistencies but they were my favorite English cast for a very long time. At this point it doesn't even matter anymore, but it would've been the coolest thing ever back in the day.

Thanks for the list Rory. How odd, it must have been very weird to be a fan of Dragon Ball in the UK. I couldn't imagine constantly listening to a voice cast for sagas and sagas and then suddenly have them changed only to be returned again. The bad attitude of Youtube ocean dub fans makes a little more sense now. Funi must have been like an uninvited guest slamming down their door crashing on their sofa and then leaving when he woke up.

In Canada I know we had the Funimation dub during the Garlic Jr. to half way through the Cell Games saga (we may have had Funi during the Ginyu Force Saga too but I don't remember). I remember I was so used to the Funi voices and then out of nowhere DBZ begins and the voices completely change in the middle of the Cell Games. This is the reason I hate the Ocean dub most of all. I got the Ginyu, Garlic Jr., Trunks, Imperfect Cell, Perfect Cell, Cell Games, Sayianman, Majin Buu Saga all recorded on VHS from TV since the episodes cost so much back then.

I just wish I had recorded Dragon Ball off of TV since I loved the Blue Water dub so much when I watched it.

I must have missed the bit where they switched back to FUNimation for the Fusion saga, but I believe after that we just got the Ocean cast for the Fusion saga later on.

I got the series recorded on video during that huge Dragonball Z marathon, give or take a few episodes (the marathon started at 6AM and ran till 9PM for 3 weekends), and I'll tell ya it was a huge pain stopping and rewinding a second or 2 of the video between ad breaks every 15 mins or so and then recording when the episode started again.

Yeah I still have all the DVDs, they were my pride and joy untill like 2 months ago when I decided that since I had imported joey season 2 and nothing went wrong I'd try my luck importing dragonball. But I still have all my tv recordings, I'm just trying to get the openings on official dvds, which I've managed to track down the third opening now, still need the first 2.

The "Extra" DVD's would most likely just the Japanese extra's of the Region 2 version, if anything. If I remember correctly the only thing that would be in English at all on those Region 2 sets would be an English clip from the Frezza Saga (Funimation dub) showing how Dragon Ball Z was presented around the world with the dubs from different countries.
