Which characters could be used for a spin-off?

Post by Kingdom Heartless » Fri Jul 09, 2010 9:05 pm

Not that it would ever happen, but if there were to be a spin-off or two of Dragon Ball, which characters do you think have good potential?

For me, the character with the most story possibilities would be Uub, as Goku's successor. Starting with his training and letting him continue down his own path.

I also think a backstory to Muten Roshi would be great. There's plenty of potential there. From his training with Mutaito to the rift that clearly formed between him and the Crane Hermit.

Lastly, I think Son Gohan senior could have a good story, from his training with Roshi and such, ending when he finds Goku.

Realistically, the adventures of Goku training Uub.

Unrealistically, Yamcha's life, Freeza's life, Upa's quest to be strong like his dad, what Lunch does on a day-to-day basis... All have varying interest to me.

The adventures of Mr. Satan and Mr. Buu. It'd be totally awesome.

I like the other suggestions so far too though.

Mr. Satan and Mr. Boo. Toriyama said he'd like to do a spin-off with them. :D

I always wanted to see Toriyama actually do a manga about Mr. Satan and Mr. Boo. I've also always wanted to see Goku and Oob's training.

For a Dragon Ball spin-off I'd like it to chronicle different characters and not just one character/group. One chapter could be about Mr. Satan and Boo's shenanigans and the next could be about Gyumao and Son Gohan's training under Master Roshi.
That or the everyday life of the Tenkaichi Budokai announcer.

We need a special on Freeza's childhood, and King Cold spanking him

Actually, yeah, Mr Satan and Buu is the other one I had on my mind, I just forgot about it. :P

I second a realistic vote for Uub. But as far as wacky sitcom situations go (and which were actually touched upon by the series):

Mustache!Vegeta and family.

Mr. Satan and Buu cannot get enough credit.

And of course, Karin and Yajirobe. "What, with the hole again? Is that all you ever think about?"
The adventures of Cell and Freeza in Hell.
No joke, one of my favorite anime additions ever is Freeza and Cell being best friends in Hell. I would watch that series any day, but preferably if it played out like an evil version of the buddy-cop genre.

Goku, Goten and Trunks in on epic journey throughout space and beyond, with the comradeship, fun and adventure any Dragonball fan would enjoy.

Oh, wait...

...DBGT Pan happened.

Going by the manga those two don't even have bodies.

But yeah anyone besides Goku, Vegeta, Present Trunks, Goten, and Gohan would be cool.

Speaking of which, Future Trunks has a lot of potential.

"Life in the Dead Zone: A Garlic Jr story" and it will nothing but Garlic Jr doing random stuff in the darkness. Just joking.

Really I agree with everyone else with Mr Satan and Buu, that would be cool.

Yeah he probably has the most after Uub and after him(Trunks) would most likely be Tenshinhan.

Goku training Uub would be interesting to see, or how Goten and Trunks open their sword-related martial arts school in DBO.

Add a talking dog and you got yourself a wacky sitcom!

I would honestly like to see a spin-off of Goten and Trunks super-duper-space-adventurer-exxxxxxxtravaganza! I did find them annoying but hey maybe spin-off featuring those two wouldn't be so bad.

They did?! Man wish this game was released in the US already.

A series going even further into Goku and Vegeta's wacky competitive rivalry shown in the JSAT Special
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Tenshinhan and Chaozu.

Oh right, they did that one. Boku no Pico.
