Do you think Funimation will release Dragonball Z again with Faulconer's music? I do prefer the original score, but would like to own
what was first Dragonball Z to me. I sold the orange bricks I had, and replaced them with the Dragon Box, hoping one day that a better release with Faulconer's music may surface. I was thinking about buying all the singles, but I will wait and see. Maybe funi will release the video from the Dragon Box, with the additional track that is included on the brick, on blu-ray, with EXTRAS!
I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

I have to say your story confuses me. If the orange bricks had an audio track you wanted that you knew its replacement (the Dragon Boxes) didn't have, then why did you sell them at all?

Since they've gone out of their way to phase out the Faulconer score on the Dragon Boxes, and given the attitudes of Sabat and Schemmel on the Faulconer music on the DB Kai interview vids, I doubt it'll be making a comeback.

The dub score's gone for good. FUNi doesn't play for that team anymore, if you know what I mean. However, I do have suggestions for broadcast dub fans (not that you probably haven't heard these suggestions before)...

1. (Note: this may cost a pretty penny) Track down all the US season 3 and onwards singles via ebay or something. Don't know what to say about seasons 1 and 2, though.
2. (Note: this may also cost a pretty penny) Buy both the DBoxes and season sets, use video editing software to rip footage from the DBoxes and the broadcast dub audio from the seasons and splice them together.

Hey, just trying to help. I mean, I personally don't care about the dub either way, but hey.....

I think they should finally put Z to rest. Kai is the new hotness, Z isn't.

Kai isn't that hot or, strictly speaking, new.

That said, there aren't a whole lot of ways to re-re-re-release Z at this point. Last stop: Dragon Boxes.

I don't see why anyone would do this unless they REALLY cared.

I prefer the japanese music, if I had to choose one or the other forever, it would be the japanese. But, I still would like to own the series with the Faulconer music for nostalgia. Just like watching the Ocean dub to hear "Stand by for Dragonball Z. Coming Next!" or "Rock the Dragon," which goes back all the way when I was in 3rd grade and had to get up at 6:30 AM to watch my favorite show. As a senior in college I look back fondly of those memories, despite the edits and other atrocities present.

I owned the first four orange bricks, but before I sold them I ripped them onto my comp and downsized them. A friend of mine owns the rest of the bricks, so I have the whole series on about 8 dvd's, that I can watch on my computer. The quality is really good, but I always support the official release so I would like to have good quality (not widescreen) dvd's with Faulconer's music. I already own the Dragonball 2 disc sets (three of the tournament saga, one from madman, one I paid over $100 for and another I got for $40, I bet on both but at the time didn't know that you didn't have to pay for things you bid on eBay. I searched for that Tournament saga set for months, went to probably over one hundred stores throughout NY. People were selling it for $300 dollars on Amazon marketplace, thats crazy! Obviously this is way before the blue bricks came out, circa 2007. Anyway I own the DB movies boxed set, all the dbz movies and specials, the first three dragon boxes, and all of the GT singles and the movie.

If you had a bad day realize I paid $25 a piece for probably over 10 of the Dragonball GT singles back when they first came out, and I hate Marc Menza's score. The green bricks can be had for less than $20 each. I know people have paid $20 each for all the DBZ singles before the bricks came out but this is GT were talking about.

I could do this since I have backups of the season sets, does anyone know a good video editing program for Mac (stupid question) for said event. I know they say it during the credits, but what program did VegettoEX, Castor Troy, and crew to make the Doomrider AMV?

They could try and do it in HD or something, but I think the DBox would be a good place to stop.

Sorry pal, the Faulconer days are gone. As penguintruth pointed out, Sabat and basically everyone behind the production of Dragonball these days has expressed their negative opinions towards Faulconer's music. Those Orange bricks are probably the last we'll see of his music.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

It'll be nice, several years from now, when kids who grew up on Kai are arguing on the Internet and, at the very least, they won't be having to worry about having more than one soundtrack for the same show.

Okay, now I'm really confused. So you bought the first four season sets to rip them to your computer so you could sell them... But you support the official release, so you want to buy them... again? Again, I ask you, if all those things are important to you, why did you sell them in the first place? Did you only come to the conclusion that you wanted to support the official release after you sold them the first time? Because I see your problem being nearly halfway solved if you simply hadn't sold them the first time. Or, when you say that you want to support the official release, you mean that you insist on buying every single re-release and just hope that a potential future release has the same content that was on the release that you already owned but sold in order to finance the... next release? Granted, I can certainly understand the logic in selling the orange bricks in order to get the Dragon Boxes since the orange bricks are... well, all manner of terrible. But like you've stated, the orange bricks do have a feature that the Dragon Boxes don't have but you desire, and you knew this, so I still don't understand why you sold them.

That will be great. These bastards are lucky, they get an accurate script, the same soundtrack and amazing voice acting. It's not fair.

For some reason, when I first looked at this thread, I was expecting an actual Dragon Ball Post Box. Where was my mind?

Anywho, I'm one of those weirdos that liked the dub track in most places, so I kept my Bricks and passed on the Dragon Boxes; better quality be damned. I'll live with my random vanishing lines.

The more days pass by, the more I realize how absolutely pointless the Dragon Box is. They should've released this ifrom the beginning, with the dub music.

...A...are you trolling? I seriously couldn't even re-watch the first three sets due to the ridiculously bright/blurry footage. I only got through them the first time because it had been 6 years since I'd seen the episodes.

I think he means they should have just released this instead of the Season Bricks.

That's true... but the Season Sets would be the pointless release... The Dragon Boxes are a very necessary release after those...

Yeah, this. I doubt I'm gonna buy the rest of them, since I already have the Season sets, which actually have the dub music. I've already flushed ~$120 on the first 3 sets. Pretty colors or not, it's still the exact same fucking show.
