Yeah, that was BS. The original vision is, and always will be, the Manga. Kai is an adaptation of an adaptation. It wouldn't be the first time that FUNimation has put their own spin on the truth for marketing purposes, though.Gaffer Tape wrote:Phew. I like that banner much, much better. Wish you could have gotten them to excise that "original vision" tripe, though.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:No, it's cool guys, I called FUNimation and told them about the banner and they fixed it right up!

Meh, I just don't like the term "original vision" being used for marketing purposes at all. Like I said earlier in the thread, it just reminds me of all the crap that spews from George Lucas's mouth, and, thanks to him, it's become a popular marketing buzzword.
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

I hope that 2nd Kai cover is the worst Kai box art that we ever get... please designers, never make a mistake like that with Vegeta again!!!
The word "KAI" means in the old North Germanic language Frisian "Kämpfer engl. Fighter" respectively "Krieger engl. Warrior"!

"Witness Akira Toriyama's Original Vision"
Yeah, he never liked those first 16 volumes that much.

Has there been any info released on WHY the US kai releases are spaced SO far apart?
I know DB Season 5 and movie 1 come out tuesday and Dbox 4 in Septemper, but why do they always have to sync up releases like that?

Their One Piece DVDs were about 5 months apart at first, I believe, but now they're about 2 months apart aren't they? Hopefully it'll be like this for Kai after the 4th set is out.

Four months, but pretty close. Right now we're getting sets pretty much every other month, although who knows how that will change when Season Three is done cand over with. The Time Traveller wrote:Their One Piece DVDs were about 5 months apart at first, I believe, but now they're about 2 months apart aren't they? Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai 2 DVD and Blu Ray out Sept 14
Has anyone here pre-ordered Part 2 from RightStuf and gotten shipping confirmation?
I pre-ordered and they sent me an email just today telling me that it can't be shipped just yet due to "unforeseen demand or the product has not been released".
Now, obviously, Part 2 isn't in stores yet, but I had my copy of part 1 17 days before release date so I'm thinking that it's the former of the two.
Just asking so we can get confirmation from someone that Part 2 is being shipped!

My order says back ordered =(.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai 2 DVD and Blu Ray out Sept 14
It seems to depend on the product, but generally Rightstuf ships about 2.5 weeks ahead of the release date. I'd expect Kai (and DBox 4) to start shipping late next week, which is cool except for the fact that Labor Day will screw up the delivery date

I hate to sound like an ass, but isn't it obvious? They don't wanna catch up with the Japanese release.LeprikanGT wrote:Has there been any info released on WHY the US kai releases are spaced SO far apart?

Which is stupid, why should we suffer just because we are putting more episodes in releases than they are. Who cares if we area at the same release point? I'd be willing to pay a little more if they would speed things up.

Toei cares because of the money.LeprikanGT wrote:Which is stupid, why should we suffer just because we are putting more episodes in releases than they are. Who cares if we area at the same release point? I'd be willing to pay a little more if they would speed things up.

Toei can tell FUNimation to do whatever they want.LeprikanGT wrote:Which is stupid, why should we suffer just because we are putting more episodes in releases than they are. Who cares if we area at the same release point? I'd be willing to pay a little more if they would speed things up.
That and because FUNimation has actually said at a con that they wanted each release to be out there on the market long enough to not have to compete with the previous or next releases.
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai 2 DVD and Blu Ray out Sept 14
Yeah, and I'm sure you guy's who are buying the DBox's as well as FUNi and Toei themselves want people to eat everything up DB related so what Jacob makes sense.
Though @LeprikanGT If they did catch up, you'd still end up with a possibly even longer wait between releases because of the dubbing process.
