Searching for Vegito in games...

Post by Rocketman » Sun May 15, 2005 11:16 pm

Just for the hell of it, I've decided to try to collect every DBZ game that features Vegito as a playable character.

I already know about/have:

Budokai 2 and 3
Legendary Super Warriors
DBGT: Final Bout

Are there any others?

He's also in Hyper Dimension and Buu's Fury.

He's also available (in an unusual way) in the Evolution mod, which is an "unofficial" addon for the Earths special forces mod for Half Life 1.

Well, hmmm, DBZ Ultimate Battle 22 sort of has Vegito as a character. They call it Vegito but it's acctually Gogeta. But I am not sure what types of techniques he has, it's been over a year since I've played as Vegito/Gogeta in that game.

I think they was meant to put Vegetto in that game, seeing as it makes more sense then Gogeta.

Strange, he's called Gogeta in my version. He has some energy attacks but what I like about him is his teleporting and screw kick.

He's called Gogeta in the Japanese version too.

I think they only called him Vegeto in the Infogrames North American release.

I think they did it to try and make more sense to certain people, if North American fans have never seen Gogeta. By that time, Vegeto was already shown in the dub, but you'd have to go see one of the movies to know who Gogeta was. And I don't know if there was a translated version of whatever movies he was in. I haven't watched many of the movies.

So, if they don't recognize this Gogeta person's design, but see him as being called Vegeto, they may just assume that it's still a fusion of Goku and Vegeta. Which it is. Of course, there will be lots of people who don't support this name change, as it is not his real name. :P

Wow, I didn't know that they changed the name, but I do have the American version, I find that a little messed up though.

That wouldn't count, though, since only the "Englishized" version of the game calls him "Vegito." I really hate how they released that in America. They didn't have any of the dub voice actors and left the Japanese dialogue in, and they set up Gogeta with Vegito's name instead in an effort to make things less confusing, which is just going to add up to more confusion for fans when the 12th movie is release in English. Plus, it's lazy and stupid. I mean, the announcer clearly said "GOJITA-!"
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

Ack I hated that voices, those were horrible, when I first started playing I had never even heard of the Japaneese version....I was horrified.

HUH? Sorry to interfere, but I've heard that they didn't leave the pre- and post-battle conversations in USA version of UB22, have I heard wrong?
It's party time, Ginyu style!

No, that's right. The beginning and end battle dialogues were taken out in the North American version. Maybe veshira meant the voices during battle, like screaming out attacks or standard battle shouts and groans.
They did strangely leave the tournament announcer's Japanese dialogue in though.

Yes, that's all there was, but it's sorta fun to hear the Japaneese Voices.
