Their new cover art is really good. I think it's a lot better than their DVD sets from the Ginyu saga up, and better than the Pioneer ones even.

My word, who's the killer artist THEY'VE hired??

(On a side note, I guess it's worth mentioning that over the years I kind of grew up on the idea that box art for dubbed anime can only be drawn by the original Japanese artists/animators. An American? Out of the question, I thought! What was I thinking...?)
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Little Gohan's looking pretty cool, with his mini sword IMO clearly forshadowing his future pulling of the Z sword, but that's just my thoughts. I definitly think that sword is an important part of Gohan's past, for without training with it, he may not have been able to weild the Z sword as gracfully as he did... before he broke it anyway.

Whoops, nearly getting off topic *peers over at Mike with fear*. Awesome box cover and I hope they do the same with the Namek saga redub, go FUNi! Oh God, did I just say that?

EDIT: If that is all new animation, it wouldn't surprise me that Toei would make a new design for FUNi after the beautiful work they had did for Sagas' opening chapter.

There is no way they are related. I doubt Toriyama would have thought back to the beginning of the series when he was doing the Buu saga. Isint some of the training with Piccolo filler?

Nah, Sagas opening sequence was pasable, an improvement on Budokai3's dire opening sequence but not much else.

To return to topic. Yeah its definatley looking better than the last one but I still dont like it that much. I dont know why, just something about it.

So did they actually hire someone to draw the covers from scratch, or did they piece together some existing Toei artwork?
