I love dramatic pointing.

Maybe this is that rumored "Ocean dub" that Schemmel went on about back when Kai was announced.
Actually, I thought about that too. I thought, "Oh my God, what if Schemmel was unknowingly talking about the 4Kids-edited version?" And he did mention that they want to change the music...DO NOT WANT.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I hope it's not an Ocean cast dub because I don't want Ocean wasted on an edited dub. They'll get a bad reputation for something that isn't even their fault.

They'll deserve flack for crappy voice acting, though. :p

I doubt this will be an 'Ocean' dub, though.

Ocean is certainly capable of great dubs. Death Note and Black Lagoon have better dubs than anything Funimation's put out, aside from Baccano.

Those prove to be the exception most of the time, I would say. Their children's fair is typically not very good, however. This counting as children's fair would likely fall into the same category. Of course, they could turn out some incredible. I have to wonder if they'll recast Gokû again, though. :p

Admittedly that's not likely, considering Morrow still works in the area, but it'd be humorous.

Espicially if they convinced Corlett to return.

If they are required to make more edits than Nicktoons then what was the point of editing Nicktoons? Uncut Kai isn't that violent because it's already censored. Nicktoons could have aired it TV-PG. Cartoon Network played DBZ with less edits than this when FUNimation's in-house dub started and later played the first two seasons completely uncut in prime time. Granted as soon as I saw peeing and lines such as "the devil's ears" being kept in the Nicktoons broadcast I expected CW would require more cuts. You know what that means right? When they stream DBZ Kai there will be two websites streaming two slightly different edited versions of the show (unless they just stream the Nicktoons version).

Much more interesting is the website intended to stream uncut 4Kids anime. Maybe DBZ Kai will stream uncut there. Probably not, since FUNimation and/or Toei probably wants to keep the uncut version strictly for home video to drive sales.

Ocean Group does an excellent job with pre-lay. It's ADR where they tend to well... suck. More times than not anyway and even more times than not when it's Blue Water instead of Westwood. Ugh... don't ever watch Hunter x Hunter's dub.

Eh not necessarily.

FUNi streams episodes of Uncut Dub/Sub One Piece on their video player, they just show certain sections/episodes at a time as to not interfere with DVD releases. I can see them playing a couple of episodes a week on Toonzaki (4Kid's new video streamer) then after a while remove some of the older episodes as new episodes are put up.

I was speaking in terms of dubbing rather than the pre-lay stuff.

They're called Ocean Productions now. But anyways, they really need to learn to pronounce Japanese names correctly. And yes, Blue Water Studios sucks. I couldn't finish episode one of Hunter x Hunter. >_<

One thing I've noticed is that people haven't taken note of the very clear "if" indicating that he's not entirely sure whether or not the Nicktoons edit is different from the one they have.
Mark Kirk wrote:"I just want to mention, if there are any changes that you notice from the Dragon Ball Z Kai that runs on our block from the one that runs on Nicktoons, I would just say that those were mandated by the network, if there are any."
Also, I found the talk about One Piece interesting. And am still eternally grateful for the fact that it's out of their hands and being looked after by Funimation now.

Tanooki Kuribo, now you probably will have the opportunity to make an edit guide for the super edited version.
Haha, no. I can't! It's too much work! I might just have to change the name of that thread I made to "DragonBall Z Kai: Nicktoon Edits". I really, really don't know what they could change at this point. Give everyone party hats? I just don't know!

Perhaps this?

I think it is quite possible, as it is 4Kids! we are talking about... The very same company that shoehorned slingshots and "rubber knives" into One Piece...
