I like his art style now better than any of the styles used in the manga.

Off compared to his previous art style? Yes. "Off" as in "bad"? No.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:Speaking of Toriyama, I see he have change he's art style, now it's somewhat look off.

Well hes still working with the series like the recent Dragonball Movie and DBO. Hes basically doing art related stuff like the Dragon Warrior/Quest Series. Working on a manga would take time from being able to do that stuff.

It all depends on if the Dragonball series can continue after Dragonball Z after the Kid Buu Saga. And I really didn't like the Goku Jr/Vegeta Jr era. I don't want Akira Toriyama/Toei Animation coming up with more hybrid Saiyans.

Probably about Saiyans before Freeza blew up their planet.

Dragonball isn't about Saiyans. It is about Goku, that happens to be a Saiyan.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:Probably about Saiyans before Freeza blew up their planet.
Re: Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
The manga he does is pretty much in line with his work in the later part of the Buu Saga. It was changed a bit and evolved. His standalone pieces however have been a lot more cartoony with thicker lines. I'm not sure I like his approach to digital coloring when compared to some of the stuff done by hand though...

Now that is a sign I was waiting for. Goku is what Dragonball is always about even if he didn't appear in Garlic Jr Saga.Senzu_Bean wrote:Dragonball isn't about Saiyans. It is about Goku, that happens to be a Saiyan.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:Probably about Saiyans before Freeza blew up their planet.

Well, considering the fact that what in a saiyan it is that allows them to become super saiyan is never explained, and that the eyes change colors and apparently allow them to see extremely fast things that can't be seen with the naked eye (as evidenced in the Freeza battle where he could see Freeza's movements unlike everyone else), I think they might be able to go part super saiyan if they had the genes for saiyan eyes. For example, if a hybrid human-saiyan only had the genes for saiyan eyes, if they were ever pushed to the point where they would go super saiyan, perhaps the transformation would only be in their eyes, and instead of having blond hair and increased strength they would only have blue eyes and super saiyan eyesight. It's a possibility to consider.Says who? And which genes? Would the gene for Saiyan eyes allow you to become Super Saiyan?

It's possible, but genetics aren't really anywhere near this simple. To keep it as simple as possible I'll put it this way: even if you have the gene for Saiyan eyes, that doesn't mean you have the gene(s) that actually trigger them to change. Besides, we know that Saiyan eyes aren't required for Super Saiyan, since Trunks has very obviously human eyes which still turn green-blue. Likewise we know that Saiyan hair isn't needed for it to become gold. That's if Super Saiyan even has anything to do with genetics, and isn't just a result of some sort of "Saiyan spirit" or something else more mystical.Great Saiyaman I wrote:Well, considering the fact that what in a saiyan it is that allows them to become super saiyan is never explained, and that the eyes change colors and apparently allow them to see extremely fast things that can't be seen with the naked eye (as evidenced in the Freeza battle where he could see Freeza's movements unlike everyone else), I think they might be able to go part super saiyan if they had the genes for saiyan eyes. Rats. My lack of genetic knowledge has been revealed. But say super saiyan was caused by genes. If Trunks had the gene for human eyes, could it be possible that he also had a gene for the super saiyan tranformation in his eyes? And the gene for human hair but the gene for the super saiyan transformation of the hair? Or am I failing biology forever?Bussani wrote: It's possible, but genetics aren't really anywhere near this simple. Yeah, it could work that way. Genetics is a really messy subject. Humans don't just have a gene for eye color, a gene for hair color and a gene for skin color--instead they have lots of genes that define those things, which is how we can get so many shades. If there are genes that control Super Saiyan forms, there are probably a lot of them, too. Have you ever used something like a Game Genie or an Action Replay? I think it might be comparable to that, where there can be multiple lines of code to activate a single cheat, as well as a master code that allows any of the cheats to work. Likewise there might be lots of genes making up different parts of the Super Saiyan transformation, as well as a bunch of genes serving as a kind of trigger or activation mechanism for them. But that's just me thinking of possibilities...and probably thinking about it way too hard.Great Saiyaman I wrote:But say super saiyan was caused by genes. Well I knew about the multiple genes thing, but not much else. Could the gene be that it doesn't show up until requirements for super saiyan met? I'm pretty sure they don't work that way, but I'm kinda clueless.

I'm not sure what you mean by "show up". If it is a gene, it could be dormant until the requirements are met. But it would still have had to come from one of your parents and would still be in you somewhere, even if it's not doing anything up until then. I mean, even if Saiyan biology somehow had a way to create the gene itself, you'd still need the genes that make Saiyan biology able to do that in the first place, you know?Great Saiyaman I wrote:Well I knew about the multiple genes thing, but not much else. I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Of course, Toriyama would probably never think this far, but it's fun to theorize.

I've been trying to remember how much the guides say about the amount of Saiyan blood. People often used to quote Pan's Daizenshuu bio, but the proper translation of it doesn't technically say that she lacks the Saiyan blood for Super Saiyan or Oozaru. I think one of the GT Perfect Files might have said something, but I don't remember what. Anyone know?

Volume 1 says that Pan could potentially become a Super Saiyan one day, if that's what you're thinking of.Bussani wrote:I think one of the GT Perfect Files might have said something, but I don't remember what. Anyone know?

Ah, that was it, thanks. So yeah, there's basically nothing telling us how much Saiyan blood is required to become a Super Saiyan.Herms wrote:Volume 1 says that Pan could potentially become a Super Saiyan one day, if that's what you're thinking of.Bussani wrote:I think one of the GT Perfect Files might have said something, but I don't remember what.
