No, this topic isn't about a remake of the movie starring Megan Fox with the role of Jennifer played by Captain Ginyu.
We all know that Ginyu's special ability. During his fight with Goku, without hesitation, he stabs himself and changes bodies. He basically throws away his previous body. Since Jeese obviously recognized the move, it's safe to assume Ginyu has done this before. This must mean that this version of Ginyu that we all know
is not the species he was born as (unless he stole this body from a stronger member of his species).
Is this true? I'm just assuming he usually keeps the stronger body and kills his opponent in his previous form. Does any body know what species Ginyu was born as and/or what species the purple humanoid is?

Ginyu has changed bodies in the past at least once, almost undoubtedly several times, but I don't believe we were ever told much about his past forms. All I know is that one of the guidebooks says that Sauzer, Coola's lead henchman, is actually the only one who knows Ginyu's original appearance.

^What?
Wasn't that only said in the profiles in Budokai Tenkaichi 3?
I only recall Saiza "competing" with Ginyu being stated in the guides, tho I could be wrong.

Ginyu's Daizenshuu 7 bio says that only a few people know his original form. Supposedly an issue of Weekly Jump that came out before DBZ movie 5's premiere mentioned that Sauzer was one of these few people, but I still haven't been able to confirm this. We know from the anime guide Son Goku Densetsu that there was such an issue of Jump that had backstory and Coola's Armored Squad, but not whether the whole "Sauzer knows Ginyu's original form" thing was part of that. That is where the backstory of Ginyu and Sauzer having competed for the position of leader of the Armored Squad came from though, since that's one of the things Son Goku Densetsu mentions having been in there.

If Ginyu was any kind of smart, he would have tricked Frieza and switched bodies with him; since how much strong the opponent is does not matter, it seems as though it would be possible.

Okay, so they competed to be in the Armored Squad. I haven't seen that movie in forever, but is the Armored Squad more powerful than the Ginyu Tokusentai (in general)? Even if that were true, would Ginyu individually be stronger than anyone on the AS while the GT is still weaker as a whole? That's not really that important.
It'd be a neat twist if Ginyu stole Sauzer's body.

I would say that Ginyu is one of the most dangerous villians for that move alone, also in retrospect not very physically strong.

Yes. Captain Ginyu's maximum Battle Power was 120,000, while the three Coola Armored Squad dudes averaged at around 175,000 or so.

Which is another bit of their backstory that's still not completely confirmed. Japanese Wikipedia says the battle powers for them were included in that issue of Jump with their backstory, but this isn't mentioned in Son Goku Densetsu or any other guidebook.
As for the question, I usually see people argue that if anything, those BPs are far too low, since the three were able to fight with Piccolo, who at that point would be over 1 million. Although from what I remember of the movie, Piccolo pretty much just kills Naiz and Dore. Even Naiz's special electricity attack doesn't cause Piccolo any pain, though he fakes it for a little bit to catch them off guard. Sauzer seemed to give him a bit of trouble, though I suppose Piccolo could have just been toying with him too, since Coola barges in before the fight gets very far.

Isnt Cooler stronger?
I would think the stronger ones would go with the stronger of the two brother; but thats just a thought.
Sauza shows more fighting skill with using his ki as a blade.....and doesnt fist himself in the chest.

Piccolo does seem fond of toying with his henchmen-level opponents in the movies.

Well, the only real problem Piccolo had with Sauzer was the little blade thingy. In fact, Cooler jumped in just as it seemed like Piccolo was about to kick his ass.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Would the ki blade even do any damage since Piccolo is at least 7 times stronger than Salza? Is the blade like Kienzan/Destructo Disk and Makankosappo/SBC that it can hurt/kill people regardless of strength difference? It is a blade, so I can understand it, but I don't know why, but I have a hard time believing Piccolo would have trouble with Salza, especially with his regeneration and whatnot.

Could it be that Ginyu snatched a body with a power level of 120,000. I think the original body of Ginyu is a mystery and someone must've teached Ginyu how to change bodies.

I'm pretty sure Thouser only cut his shirt during that battle. I don't think he drew blood.

What about how the Squadron managed to give Goku a decent fight? Goku should at least be well over a million in BP by that point, I don't see how three guys at only 1/10th his power should be able to even touch him. He was only twice as strong as Jeice and Burter for example, and he made them look like nothing when he fought both at once. Then again, that's movies for ya, they were probably just trying to make things more interesting. Either way though, isn't Sauzer listed as the weakest out of those guys anyway? I find that alone to be unrealistic, even if it is just by a small amount.
On the topic of Ginyu, I have to wonder if he really thought it through when he stole Goku's body. He knows for a fact that Goku has the potential to be a SSJ, Freeza's worst nightmare. Wouldn't Freeza just kill him if he ever found Ginyu to have that potential anyway?

I think that one of the "Memories of..." capsules in Budokai 3 revealed that in the planned Ginyu Dragon Universe story, Ginyu steals Goku's body and apparently manages to defeat the good guys, only to have Freeza become increasingly worried that Ginyu would become a Super Saiyan.

Is that what those weird voice clips were for? I remember wondering when these characters said such things in the story mode.
