I'm supposed to care if the voice actor has a problem with my opinions? The man obviously has a following, I think he should be able to handle a few dissenters. Then again, given his previous behavior, perhaps not. The man can't even handle being quoted, according to Kendamu.

My dislike for his Goku wasn't born in a vacuum, didn't just come out of nowhere, it's because I think he's honestly not a great Goku. I've said he's become tolerable in Kai, but this past episode I really thought he took a step backwards. I have no problem debating others, but jumping on my every comment is a bit much, isn't it?

I'm hardly concerned over whether I'm offending a voice actor. The guy has a enough fans, you'd think he'd get over it. And if it's just you being offended, that's fine, but don't drag him into it like you're acting on his behalf.

Back on the subject of the show itself, tonight we're going to hear some seriously pissed off Freeza, and I'm excited to see how Ayres does.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

People don't learn what? :?

Not liking Schemmel's Goku is not an attack against him. And it's not like Schemmel's the most "attacked" FUNi voice actor; Sabat gets plenty of criticism for his work in DBZ, so stop pretending like it's everyone against Schemmel.

People don't learn their lesson. I know Sabat gets attacked too, but Schemmel has been getting attacked even still with Kai going.

As for tonights episode I am excited for Ayres' Freeza to get really pissed.

Let's try to move this discussion back more towards discussing the dub. Criticizing criticisms and criticizing the criticizing of criticisms isn't critically acclaimed, or so my critique goes (punches self).

We're approaching the big moments. Goku's return to his body and healing, plus the start of the Freeza fight. We're only a few weeks from Goku coming back as well.

I'm really looking forward to the dubbing of SSJ Goku and Final Form Freeza fighting. Burst Limit gave me the first taste of what that could be with a better dub, but this will be going all the way as a good dub, hopefully. I wonder if, like in game, that's where they'll include his full name (Schemmel mentioned he was going to try to get Son Goku in the dub at some point).

And yes, before I forget, Freeza's utter bat**** rage should be a good test for Ayres.

Judging from all of the other times Frieza has been angry, I don't see good things coming from that.

... What?

But YES, I too am so excited to see the Super Saiyan Goku vs Freeza fight dubbed properly as well!

It's one of the most powerful moments of Dragon Ball and yet it is absolutely unwatchable in English... until now!!

What are you talking about? His angry scenes are awesome.
A Dragon Ball/Urusei Yatsura crossover would be awesome.
Having Toshio Furukawa balance between Piccolo and Ataru would be hilarious.

I understand the criticisms directed at Schemmel at Kai episode 34, because I felt he underperformed. Schemmel has done a better job at conveying pain and agony earlier on in Kai, eg after Goku was kneed by Raditz. Although Schemmel did a better job than the season 3 equivalent, he wasn't significantly better like he was with the previous 2 Kai episodes. At times he was only marginally better than season 3, which is a shame considering the work he's done. Hopefully he will do a much better job for Kai episode 35 onwards, the Freeza vs Goku battle is approaching and I hope that fight will display Schemmel's best work for Goku to date.

Kai episode 35 is the first episode we see Freeza truly get pissed off, it'll be interesting to hear how Ayres performs.

I honestly thought Schemmel underperformed in these last two episodes. Granted I still don't like his Goku but at least in Kai it doesn't sound forced most of the time. So when he does sound forced in his performance, I scratch my head wondering "How does this happen? You've had ten years to perfect a decent, tolerable performance. What's with the slip ups?!"
Also, just because some of us criticise Schemmel doesn't mean we have some sort of vendeatta against him. Hell, I've even critizised Colleen Clinkenbeard once and she's my favorite!

Aww, no "MONDO COOL"? Damn, now there's a line I'm missing.

Sonny Strait is the star of this episode, regardless. Colleen Clinkenbeard's Gohan is doing a great job in this episode, too. And I really like the voices of Saichoro and Dende, too.

Ayres' Freeza was pretty damn good.

I think there was an instance of added dialogue in this episode. When Frieza was rising up after he was about to finish Nail off, he was laughing in the original (at least in Z), but in Kai's dub, he just keeps talking. Was the Japanese Kai like that, or is this an example of the manga having dialogue there, but the anime replacing it with laughing, like the scene before he blows up Krillin?

Man, when Frieza lost it, I got chills down my spine!

Clinkenbeard's Gohan was always good for me, but now I love it. It sounded especially cute in this episode. Krillin was good as usual, I'm loving all of the Namekians, Vegeta sounds more natural while talking calmly, Freeza sounds freakin' bad-ass, and Goku sounded how he needed to. And I've decided I like Ginyu.

Have to say I was surprised they just had Frog-Ginyu croaking and not going, "Ribbet, Ribbet."
