Adding Subs and New Audio to R2 Movies?

Post by sumpter360 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:25 pm

Today I got the R2 Dragon Ball The Movies #8, and I was planning on burning myself a Region-Free copy of it. While thinking about this, I started to wonder, Is it possible to burn a subtitle track for the JP audio and maybe even add FUNi's Dub to the new DVD?

Since a few weeks ago, I've become acquainted with burning Blank DVD's, but I don't know of what boundries burning has when it comes to adding new content to, basically, a full copy of the original.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's easy enough to splice together, what programs are you using?
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

ImgBurn and DVD Decrypter. The only thing is, I'm not sure how to
1) Get the subtitles track from the R1 Broly movie I have.
2) Implement the Subs and New Audio Track into the R2 Copy
3) Make sure all stays sync'ed correctly with the video when it gets burned onto the Blank DVD.

First of I have to ask is the R1 Broly movie an unedited version?
You need a video editiong program, like xilisoft or something, take a look for the best free one that you feel comfortable with, rip both movies using dvd decrypter/dvd shrink, in shrink when you open each movie select only the main title, and tick the audio tracks that you want to keep, along with the subtitle tracks you want to keep, then hit backup, once that finishes open up those 2 files with your editing program and splice the audio/subs from the R1 movie with the R2 movie, you shouldn't need to realign any of it since both movies run for the same time. Then burn it, pop in your player and select whichever audio/sub track you want to listen/read to.

Yes, I will be using the R1 Steelbook, so it will be unedited. I think I'll mess around with VirtualDubMod, and see if I can do the splicing with it. Thanks for your help!

EDIT:
I backed up the R1 and R2 movies on my computer. I have .IFO, .VOB, and .BUP files for both of them. What do I do from there?

Its a pain in the ass to sync up the audio, I was doing that when I was working on the original Dragon Box discs. When I finally synched the audio the DVD bitrate limit was reached.
I can help you with the subtitles for the Broly movie since adding subtitles was the only thing I could do for the discs with out the dreaded limit.

That's completely okay! Having the audio would just be a nice addition, I don't HAVE to have it. Boy, I would most graciously accept your help with attaching the subtitles to the Dragon Box video. I do want to note (I'm not sure I was clear on this earlier) that I want to have the ENTIRE Blank DVD to be a 1:1 copy of the R2 DVD. The only difference being that it has the subtitles. Thanks a TON.

Krycek, you can lower the video bitrate to fit the audio on.

As for making a 1:1 in that case you need some blank Dual layers.

If you lower the video bitrate it won't be an 1:1 copy anymore, which is a shame as the video quality is one of the greatest things about these movies.

Don't worry, everything will stay exactly the same as the original copy with only the subtitle added to it. It can be turned on and of using your remote.

Uh...What's the point of making the discs if you are re-encoding the video?
The point of a said project is to keep it 1:1, re-encoding the video is just pointless.
