Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The problem stems from three things:Zep wrote:Hm, if you don't mind me making a recommendation after skimming the comic, I'd say get someone to proof-read the translations. I think lots of works, including video games and anime, would have immensely improved translations if they just got a native English speaker to look over their translation and edit them so that they sounded more natural.
Lines like "Do as Vegeta, Gohan!" and "Broly's life had a stroke of luck" just don't sound right...
1) They have multiple translators, which is why some older ones are spot on and other chapters just suck.
2) There are times when the original is using bad syntax, so the text is just as awkward in the original (this doesn't happen often, but when it does, it REALLY does).
3) As seen earlier in the thread, some people who speak both languages feel the words should translate directly, which is not how translation is always done. If it were, you'd get phrases like "a car red" in English instead of "a red car." These people feel the author either meant to phrase things that way or made a mistake, but regardless, they feel contextual translations should never be used, only word-by-word direct ones.
@Whoever wants to know the "super Namek's" name: It's just "Namek." He took on the name of the people as respect for their sacrifice.
Regarding the chapter title: I think the word choice was trying to be more along the lines of "What remains when a cyborg has no humanity?" The one used is an equally valid, but I think they were trying to use the words "remain" and "without" in a way that wouldn't work together when translated into English. Basically, a higher diction that would get lost in translation.
Regarding Broly: ...why did he drop out of LSSJ? It would have made sense if the sun killed him at his current LSSJ strength, but it doesn't make sense for base Broly to survive the attack. His base form can be defeated by any regular SSJ, if SSJ were even needed. Plus there was reason for him to drop out of LSSJ (unless the original's "lost his transformation" was meant to be literal and not word-choice?).

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The LSSJ state is invulnerable, but a tremendous shock can make Brolly drop out of that state. That`s what the sun did and, when he reverted back, he was instantly killed by the power of the sun (since he was still there).Dayspring wrote:Regarding Broly: ...why did he drop out of LSSJ? On the remake of movie 8, the Genki Dama plus the Comet were enough to make him drop out of LSSJ, but there wasn`t any finishing blow since the Genki Dama and the Comet blew up and that only made him drop out of LSSJ. He also wasn`t killed when he fell down to the planet, so he survived.
(The first dialog of the page that showed us how Brolly survived stated that the Comet collided with the planet after the Genki Dama hit, but that was rectified).

OMFG BRA! AND MYSTIC GOHAN! Epic cover. Main Story at last. I think the title refers to future android 18. We might get a 16 vs 18 battle. And what does everyone think Bra will do when she arrives to Vegetto? I think it would be cool if she got absorbed but then freed U4 Goku, Vegeta, Gohan etc.

Have we seen the last of Broli? Yes!
A Dragon Ball/Urusei Yatsura crossover would be awesome.
Having Toshio Furukawa balance between Piccolo and Ataru would be hilarious.

Sorry but not quite over yet. I imagine Broly might be absorbed, THEN sent back to his own universe.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Did they just step out of a warp zone or something?
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Gohan (or Bra) created an energy shield.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Looks to me like Bra and Gohan teleported in front of Broli to prevent Boo was absorbing him, is all.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The Buu`s "heads" hit something (kind of like a window or a barrier), which was, without doubt, created by Gohan or Bra.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It's strangely composed. If that white circle is supposed to be an energy shield it shouldn't be behind them. If it's not an energy shield of some sort then they shouldn't be able to survive.
And since when can Gohan or Bra teleport?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I believe the visible energy is from Brolly`s energy ball/beam, which is behind them. They just created a kind of invisible ki barrier upon their arrival to stop Buu and his parts (like their ki was a physical force capable of keeping stuff away).TonyTheTiger wrote:It's strangely composed. As for teleportation, Bra learned it from her father, Vegetto (that has already been implied on the fan manga).
It makes sense since she has the same drive to fight and improve herself as Goku and Vegeta have, so she would obviously insist that she learned that move. Goku`s sons never had that kind of drive and Vegeta obviously wouldn`t ask Goku to learn it.

What I'm seeing is that Bra teleported herself and Gohan in front of Broly and put up a force field.

Is it just me, or does the last panel look flawless and perfectly drawn? I mean the art is just dead-on.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Yeah its definantly one of Gogeta Jr's best panels. a lot of people seem to think that Toriyama's art style is easy to mimic(and it may seem that way at first glance) but those special chapters say other wise..:PoetikaL:. wrote:Is it just me, or does the last panel look flawless and perfectly drawn? Alright Gohan and Bra to the rescue! Looks like Gohan's pissed off superhero pose. I'm glad that Gohan has been so badass in this comic. Bra too. Can't wait to see her fight. Won't Vegetto be disqualified now that he's fighting outside the tournament?
