Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?

Well, if they wanted, they could slow down to one episode a week, and then they most definitely wouldn't catch up to Japan, being at the same pace and all. Would be better than going into reruns at least.

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
I'd just like to point out how hilarious this quote is. Even as recent as ten years ago, if you wanted to watch a show, you watched it when it aired. Period. Age had nothing to do with it. The state of TV shows now, with $30-40 DVD sets is a god-send for fans. Quadruple that for anime fans, where even in Japan you might still pay over $30 for a measly three episodes after airing.TheGreatness25 wrote:Three, I like to watch it on my time, I'm not a kid anymore who waits for it to air like that.
So if the crux of your dissatisfaction is that Funimation isn't pumping out their affordable thirteen-episode sets quickly enough, think that over one or eight times.

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
Actually I don't watch any TV shows. I only watch TV for the movie channels and occasionally if something's on like at Nick at Nite or something, I'd watch that. I don't run to my TV every night timing the next new episodes of enter TV show here. And I don't want to do that with DBKai either. I'm always either out or at work or at school, and I don't get home until like 4 in the morning most of the time anyway. So needless to say, I'm not planning to go out of my way just to catch it on TV like I did when I was a kid.

But that's your problem, dude. Plenty of people watch TV shows as they air.TheGreatness25 wrote:Actually I don't watch any TV shows. Shit, according to "narutosagetoad" on FUNimation's forums, Nicktoons stated on Twitter that Kai will be on hiatus starting next week:
Guess that's why the "next week's sneak preview" section on Nicktoons' Kai page is now missing.Bad newss guys, Nickandmore.com said on twitter that dbzkkai will go on hiatus starting next week. Oh well, at least they got to the freeza fight!

What an amazing cliffhanger for the new fans! Hopefully it picks back up when Nicktoons starts their Fall lineup. If not, then maybe early 2011.

Well I guess this is a good time for a hiatus since I stopped watching the dub about last week. It couldn't go on forever and it ends it right before the big battle with Freeza?Kendamu wrote:What an amazing cliffhanger for the new fans! So nobody has a problem with there having to be like two extra releases just to catch up to what they're showing on TV now? I mean seriously, I would think that nobody would jump on me for wanting quicker releases, but I guess everything is possible.B wrote: But that's your problem, dude. That's normal amongst TV shows in the west. House's sixth season ended in May, and the DVD doesn't drop until the end of August. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is coming back for a sixth season on September 16; the fifth season DVDs come out two days before that.TheGreatness25 wrote:So nobody has a problem with there having to be like two extra releases just to catch up to what they're showing on TV now? I don't think anybody's jumping on you. I'm sure everyone would love faster releases. It's just not something anybody really expects because most TV shows simply don't.TheGreatness25 wrote:So nobody has a problem with there having to be like two extra releases just to catch up to what they're showing on TV now? Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
There's new episodes this week according to DirectTV and Midco.
Though I seriously doubt it, with 2 episodes a week they can honestly keep at the pace their going, eventually it'll be 1 episode a week(roughly when we get too close say 10 or more eps).
I see no slow downs as of yet.

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
I just checked my DirecTV, Wednesday it says "Raditz" in the description. Thursday at 8 it says "To be annouced" as the TV show. Safe to assume re-runs along with other announcements like the Nickelodean twitter

That's actually been going on for a while now. New episodes only air on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

It really looks like they shot their wad and ran out of steam a little early. Seriously, they put the show on hiatus after only two weeks of slowing it down to two eps a week.
Here's to hoping they pick back up soon. I'm really loving Freeza.

Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
That REALLY sucks. Why would they restart the episodes and STILL have the Kai release so far out still. Thats like a month and a half after retsarting the episodes for a release that was WAY past shown on tv already.
Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
My guess was they knew they were running out of available episodes, but they decided to slow it down simply so July could have a full month of premieres. Anyway as far as when new episodes could start again, I think one thing to consider is the DVD release schedule. If they are going to continue an every 4 months release schedule, I would expect Volume 3 (my guess episodes 27-40) in January and Volume 4 (episodes 41-54) in May. The Freeza saga should have all of its episodes released by May, so I would expect a TV airing of most of those episodes to air before that Volume 4 release date. The reason they are taking a breaking is probably simply because they need more time to dub episodes and Nicktoons simply caught up too fast to where they were currently up to, even with the airings slowed down to twice a week. Also, this way if they wait a while they could go back to 4 episode premieres per week again once they start again.Innagadadavida wrote:It really looks like they shot their wad and ran out of steam a little early. Re: Do you think Nicktoons will give Kai a break?
I assume best case scenario, they'll go through all 35 previously-aired episodes again and just continue on from there.
So, does flipping the channel and seeing Raditz blabber on symbolize disappointing reruns for anyone else? First Z years back, now Kai too. XD
