Hell yeah, I remember that! It aired before every Dragon Ball Z episode back in the day. :P

First we also had that same announcer. Later he was replaced by a Dutch guy who was trying to imitate him.

That "Stand by for Dragonball Z" opening was on every single friggin tape released in the US. How the hell could I forget? :P

And yes, very nostalgic.

Oh man, I think I just got wood from all of the nostalgia...
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

I think I might actually like that intro better than Head-Cha-La. Toonami always had really awesome intros for their shows.

If only "Stand by for Dragon Ball Z" was followed by "Cha-La Head Cha-La".

But I have to admit, I kind of liked that. It sort of told you, "Hey, get out of the kitchen with your snacks and sit your ass in front of the TV to watch this!"

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Those last few were interesting, especially the one with the techno song in it.

And I laughed at 2:55 for a while.

What years did they use that? Because I remember it, but I don't know if it was when I had Cartoon Network from 2002-3.

It may well have been, though.

If the edited version of DBZ did one thing correctly, it was the awesome bumpers.

Oh man, those really quiet ones with the black background were awesome. I think those were the ones they used to tease the show before it started airing, they got me pumped as hell.

(So ironic that the actual show would continuously beat you over the head with sound)

Also, any Dutch people remember the eyecatches with the pink background they had when the show first aired? (I think they changed to the white ones the first time they started reruns.) There was a song snippet used in that and I've been trying to figure out where it's from for years. I don't think it was stock music because I heard a different piece from the same song in a completely unrelated commercial around the same time.

Speaking of Dutch DBZ stuff, it always annoyed me how they spoiled SSJ Goku vs Freeza from day one with those ads for the Saturday marathons.

Anyone remember this from the Movie 5 Single?:
