I saw an article in another forum that confirms a few other things, and there was no link to confirm any of it, so I didn't relay the message to here, but I really do wish it would have unfolded like the OVA does and also have the option of watching it straight through.

I went ahead and compiled a higher resolution comparison without subtitles for my blog post.

EDIT:
And if you want to make your own comparison, here's the new screen and a screen from a rip of the special on the Dbox.

You can definitely tell the differences in the art style from then to now; and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of voice we will get for the US release.

In the original, did he have like a deep voice or .....?

That comparison shot is so interesting. This is how I wish Kai looked. I liked the blog post as well and definitely agreed with good portions of it. One of the main reasons I bought Dragon Quest 9 was because of the character customization and I really wish there was a higher quality of work going into the recent home console DB games. I skipped RB1 because it didn't seem to do much for me. I did buy Attack of the Saiyans though because that one definitely seemed like hard work went into it.

One of the reasons I'm interested in DBO is character customization. DQ9 is the closest I can get where I live at the moment.

Also, I too want nothing to do with crossovers with that particular series. There are far better series (imo) that could be chosen from.

I remember Hatchiyak in Plot to Destroy the Saiyajins having a fairly generic male monster voice actually. He didn't really say much compared with Dr. Raichi from what I can recall.
On hiatus.

He had a deep voice. The same man who voiced Slug did his voice.
He talks less than Broly, though.

So why are we only getting 30 minutes?

Financial issues. That or a second part will be released for Raging Blast 3.

Or maybe they didn't need a whole hour to tell the story they wanted to? :?

Indeed.

Although it would seem almost the most financially ideal idea to save a second half for the third game if this first half helps increase the sales.

Hatchyack is already confirmed to be in this game. A character that didn't appear 'till the end of the "second half." So.. There is no "second half" to this version. :o

Maybe if this sells well enough, they'll give us a new story for the third game.

True, true. I'd rather had the story of how Vegeta became a Super Saiyan 3 anyhow. :p

They probably cut most of the bullshit, like the NES like moving scenes and all the retarded monsters bits.

Who wouldn't hate the site? Its horrible. I occasionally visit to try and contribute correct information...which never seems to stick, even with a source.

Who has what point? If you are talking about the quote, it was mine, and of course it has a point. If you are talking about the person who put Raichi's name on the list, that is completely unfounded, no evidence he will be in the game, just the OVA remake. I mean, the platinum cover for the PAL Budokai 1 had Spopovich on the cover, but it didn't mean he was playable.
Yeah yeah, the "it was my quote" card. Moving on..

This makes me hope they include the Jump Tour Special in RB3 (giving FUNi and excuse to dub it :P).

Am I the only one who isn't having an orgasm over modernly animated DragonBall? I mean yeah it looks nice and all. But I really prefer the old fashion style that the series was animated in. To me that is just what DragonBall looks like. While stuff like the Jump Special and this all look very shiny. It just feels somewhat off and unfamiliar to me. Does anyone else feel this way?
