What's Your Favorite Character? Why?

I kind of figured that it's an unspoken rule we don't make fun of other people's name conventions around here. Because everybody's is different... But whatever.

Vegeta has always been my favorite character. In a lot of ways, the entire series of Z is basically Vegeta's road to redemption and finally accepting his place and becoming a true "good guy".

To see his character develop over the whole show, as opposed to one story arc, really makes his transformation stand out. Other characters have gone from bad to good, but it was usually over the course of a few episode or one story arc.

I find his gradual transition interesting, how he is a full blown villain, then he is reluctant to help, then he helps for selfish reasons, then helps as antihero type, then becomes good but longs to still be bad, becomes bad again but realizes the errors of his ways, and how he finally becomes a good guy/hero in the end but he still keeps some of his selfishness

Kuririn for me. He's funny with his sarcasm in Dragonball, and unlike most humans in Z, he doesn't become completely useless. Only a little.

It's rather that the others become completely useless, and Kuririn becomes almost completely useless.
What were his tasks? He fought the Saiya-jins, didn't do more than to stall the enemies. Kicked Dodoria, stalled him. Got stronger, stalled Guldo until Vegeta killed him off. Stalled and distracted Freeza. Did nothing against the Androids. Got a remote control to destroy the Androids but his hyperactive gonads made him to destroy it. Stalled Semi-Perfect Cell in the anime. Stalled Imperfect Cell in the anime. Kicked Cell, and was almost killed. Got his ass kicked by a Cell Jr. Distracted Perfect Cell in the Anime. Kicked Puntat's ass. Got turned into stone by Dabra.

At least his feats were better than Yamcha's. Kuririn's golden age was before Z, where he actually got acknowledged as a threat by Piccolo Jr., and kicked serious ass in the Tournaments and some Red Ribbon ass.

I also like Hat-chan because he's funny with new concepts. "I get to sleep in a bed, woo!"

Other than the obvious choice of Goku, my favorite character has always been Gohan.

There are many things I like about his character, his development from crybaby to Goku's successor, the realistic take on his character early on not being able to handle fighting super powered aliens, and of the build up of him taking the torch from Goku. He definitely shined the most during the Cell arc.

But I do hate how much his character changed in the Boo arc, don't get me wrong I love that arc it is classic goofy DragonBall but I do call BS on the reason on him being so useless. But Kamen Rider parodies are always fun.

If not, then Kid Buu. Why? He's just a badass. Doesn't care about anything except a good fight. Strong as hell, hilarious, and has an interesting history with the Kais which adds depth. Also the first one to destroy Earth and give ssj3 Goku a hard time.

Vegeta –badass, attitude, powerful, loner, arrogant, skilled fighter, fearless (usually). I always like similar types of characters (Wolverine, Gaara).

I find I'm liking Gohan more and more with time. I think the only reason it took so long is because there was a big gap there where I wasn't involved as much with pre-Buu DBZ.
He seems like one of the least selfish characters, and ... I dunno, seems easy to impathize with?

Tullece / Turles.

I really, really like Movie 3, even if they ended up using the Dragonballs for something so trivial as a forest fire (A fire they didn't at the time know was anything more than naturally-occurring). His henchmen are interesting, and even though the fight amounts to everyone getting shitstomped, it's just always stood out to me as the most interesting, possibly because of Tullece and his... deceptively unique character in design, backstory, and personality.

After hearing about an RPG (Attack of the Saiyans) spanning up until the end of just the Saiyan arc, I desperately hoped that, at the very least, Tullece and his henchmen would be added in as a post-game story or bonus boss. I mean, hell, what better way to finish things off in Attack of the Saiyans?

But... fucking Broly happened. In the Saiyan arc. With a power level of 999,999.

I suppose renewed interest sparked by his upcoming appearances Raging Blast 2 and Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans might bring to light a far more worthy Saiyan, but alas, it's too late for my dream. Adding Tullece to a Attack of the Saiyans sequel after Broly would just be a step backwards. They'll never do it.

Kuririn. He's one of the most entertaining characters in battle, and his development from cocky kid lacking in self-confidence to happily-married man is one of my favourite character arcs. I guess it's the everyman quality he brings to the story that attracts me to the character.

Piccolo is my second favourite, basically for being one of the few clever characters and for, again, having one of the better character arcs in the series. Also, this:

As far as villains are concerned I'd have to say Freeza. That cold-bloodedness... that supercilious air masking the psychosis... how can you not love him?

No, he is that pathethic character who utters the humuliating phrase: "Son Goku, you are no. 1!". I mean after several years of feelings of resent towards Goku, he suddenly flips and makes Goku his God and himself Goku's bitch, and becomes good once and for all.
