I don't think it counts to guess a character never even seen.

What are those questions it asks when you first begin? I can't read them (I just entered my initials and age :P ).

It's definitely a fun thing to spend some time on. Although it has one major flaw: when the expected answer to a question is incorrect, there's no way to correct it (at least as far as I know). For example, I went for Sir Isaac Newton, and one of the questions was if my character had a great influence in the history of humanity. Obviously, he did, and so I chose my answer accordingly, only to find out at the end of the game it was considered wrong. The problem that arises here is that it guessed John Locke instead; in other words, the correct guess rate decreases. I only pointed out this example because it's so flagrant, but the fact is that it happens a lot more than would be desirable. I mean, you have the option to report an incorrect picture and to add a question, so I believe you should also be able to report an incorrect expected answer.

The first thing you do is to type your name and age and sex. Then you click "play" I think.
The first question is almost always "Is your character a woman?", if I have got it right.
Then the rest of the questions are random depending on what you answer.

Was guessing of Goku.

First time he guessed it was the president of Toyota so I said no and went on.

Second time he said Goku, while I was thinking of Goku.

Oh man, I used that heaps a couple years back. I was surprised how quickly it was able to get Dragon Ball characters. I was even more surprised that it got the likes of Onizuka.

But he couldn't guess Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Wow, I didn't even see this thread, haha. I've been doing this here and there for a few weeks.

How'd Akinator guess "you"? Did he just give up completely?

I did myself a couple months back and Akinator guessed right, and all my family... he got them all right.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

I tried to ask Akinator about Giran ( Dragon Ball), but he couldn't get it.

I tired Appule and it got it right the second time. And there was this at the very end.

I have the suspicion the overwhelming majority of those guessers were from this site...
