Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

I am.
I think I always like more the original version.
If original is japanese I'd prefer japanese.
If original is english, I'd prefer english.

99% of this forum. This is a place that puts an emphasis on discussion of the original version. But we do end up talking about various versions quite a bit. Often in comparison to the original Japanese.

I also understand it's a "Refresher" for the young generation, But in a sense they are missing out. x_x
I think the English version is great! I love it. I watch it on TV every time there's a new episode and I record it for my little brothers. To understand why the English version of Dragon Ball Z Kai is so good, you'd have to understand why the original Dragon Ball Z English dub is so bad. I agree that we are missing some scenes with Dragon Ball Z Kai, and I will miss some of them. But I will always have my Dragon Boxes. I only watch the Dragon Boxes in Japanese with English subtitles.
AnimeMaakuo wrote:**Anyone have a collection they have or would like to post in the future? **
It's been a while since I posted my collection. I'll give it another go since I have acquired more things since then. It's not much compared to what the other folks have posted, but its respectable, I'm sure.

An animation cel from Dragon Ball. It's Goku vs Piccolo at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. It also came with the original sketch which is on the reverse side.

Image
This is the bottom half of my DVD Shelf. I've got Dragon Ball sitting snugly on the bottom next to One Piece. It consists of: Dragon Ball Movie Box, Dragon Ball Seasons 1-5, Dragon Ball Z Seasons 1-9, Dragon Ball GT Seasons 1&2, DBZ TV Specials, and DBZ movies 1-13.

Image
This is a pretty cool little poster I picked up at a local anime shop.

Image
Upstairs in my bedroom, I've got my secret stash. It's Dragon Box Volumes 2&3, and Dragon Ball Z Kai Blu-Ray Volume 1. I'm also storing my blank cases for my recordings of the edited TV Broadcast of Dragon Ball Z Kai. I have made cases for all the way up to episode 63. I'm making these fake DVD cases for my little brothers. They're too small to watch the English version of Dragon Ball Z Kai uncut, so I make the edited DVDs for them. They really enjoy the show and they play Dragon Ball in the back yard all the time.

Image
Here are the covers of my fake DVD volumes, next to the official Blu-Ray release. I cut out images from the Dragon Box singles and other various pieces of artwork. Here's my first post about the project.

Not pictured, I have: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 (GCN), Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Wii), Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit (X360), Dragon Ball Z Viz Big Volume 1, Daizenshuu 1, a poster with Gogeta, Gotenks, Piccolo, and Gohan, and Dragon Ball Evolution on Blu-Ray. My brothers have the edited release of Dragon Ball epsiodes 1-13 on DVD and Dragon Ball Movie 3 on DVD. Also they have the fake volumes of Z Kai that I gave them.

* I guess your a Blue-Ray fan or does Kai comes with that only?
* Neat collection man! I always enjoy looking at other peoples collections.
*My You-Tube channel is AnimeMaakuo, just tag me up so I could invite you as "Friend" :--P.
*I'm debating whether or not I should buy Kai just for a collection, or if I visit Japan again... Because I don't think it's Official to the series, thoughts?
*You going to buy season 3 anytime soon!?
Yeah, I'm pretty much the best big brother ever.
DBZ Kai comes out here on DVD and Blu-Ray. But I'm planning on getting a Blu-Ray player soon, so I'd rather buy the best quality product I can, as long as I have the option. And, as for the "Season 3" question. I have the FUNimation release of Dragon Ball Z Season 3. I think you were asking about the Dragon Boxes, right? I have Dragon Box Vol. 2, and Dbox Vol. 3. I don't have the first one. So yes I plan on completing that release. I have not decided what I'm going to do with my "Season Sets" after I'm done with the Dragon Box. I bought them because I didn't know something better would be out later.

If you don't like Kai and you have no interest in it, I'd say leave it alone. I have an interest in Kai specifically for the new English dub, cutting out the filler is a bonus to me, not the main attraction. If I watch Dragon Ball in Japanese, I'll stick to the original version. Kai in Japanese isn't for me.

So what is your story anyway? You say you're from Japan, right? Where are you living now?

The game itself, maybe. But I'd bet AM was referring to the increasingly ridiculous premises in the franchise (CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES and what-not).

Why do Japanese covers always look SO much better than the US covers? >.<

IMO GX and 5D's are craps. Original Yu-Gi-Oh! FTW! And I meant the second series.

Because for the price for the Japanese release, they deserved great covers and because DB comes from Japan.

I don't know if you're know this but there are 4 Yu-Gi-Oh! series!
1.Yu-Gi-Oh! Kaiba with green hair and the show never made it to US because of the  HARDCORE VIOLENCE! and scary designs!
2.Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters! that's the Yu-Gi-Oh! I like!
3.Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, IMO, CRAP!
4.Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, IMO, EVEN MORE CRAP! I mean duel in motorcycle.
So no! I don't like GX. if that's you meant.

Well, the original series was far from classic.... although the manga is still pretty damn cool. Funny how they turned the psychotic Yami Yugi into the hero. :P

Anyway, I've gotten a new shelf for my Dragon Ball stuff that wouldn't fit in my old one.... I can't wait to get it set up. :D

Then I just need to get those wall scrolls I'm after, and I'll be in paradise.

AnimeMaakuo wrote:Hahaha, you can't be serious? ** In my opinion ** The new Yu-Gi-Oh is complete crap. Sorry If I'm offending people. It was great when Blue Eyes White Dragon and Exodia The Forbidden one came out, It was cool when we were young. But it just got so old. Yu-Gi-Oh Gx is not cool. If your an Adult who is obsessed with it, you need help. The new show is for young people. It's like you watching Power Rangers and then when you grow old, you're still watching it as it progresses to fall apart. It was cool then, but now it's just no good. People playing cards on a Motor Bike? You can't be serious? Power cards that makes your motor cycle become faster, It's like the people making the show don't know when to quit, just like all shows, they should quit and leave it classic.

Sorry, Not trying to call anyone stupid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect it!
Hope you don't judge me about this post!

I don't like GX. I like Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and that's the second series. the first was cool too but I like the second series better. I'm not obsessed with it! I just like it and Little Kuriboh still make Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series or The Cancelled Series

Even if we're talking about the animated franchise, I don't know where the idea comes from that it now "sucks," besides the usual complaints about D-Wheelers. Yusei is the only protagonist with any coherent sense in choosing from his card pool, the same goes for his opponents, and 5D's overall just makes much more sense and is based more IRL than the fillerific anime series that it proceeded, like GX, for instance. Even compared to the first season, which was mostly slice of duel life until the Shadow Riders hit, Season 2 lacks substance. Though I find the premise and villains interesting enough, Jaden does almost nothing but react to the enemies that attack him directly. Hell if Sartorius had just left him alone he probably would have destroyed the world with no resistance. It makes no sense. Jaden goes to Neospace, learns of the SoL trying to destroy the world, comes back, sees Sartorius at the head of it, and does absolutely nothing for half a season until Aster goes to attack Sartorius. It took a former adversary taking initiative for Jaden to do the same. It would have been better if Jaden had at some point challenged Sartorius to a duel (since card games solve everything) but no, he just sits on his rear and only reacts to events rather than actively doing anything to save the world. It's like this void hanging over the show where nothing is being done about an obvious problem. What exactly is it about 5D's that people find so cheesy, when they've already joined in watching an anime where adults take card games super-seriously? It's objectively better than the Duel Monsters or GX, that's for damn sure.

Anyway, shouldn't we get back to showing off our DB crap?
