Now I know another country to add; Greece, they've gotten DBZ and DBGT releases on DVD, I think (might've gotten DB, but not so sure about that). The releases have very bad video, and audio quality, and are censored with dub only.

Actually here in Greece, Dragonball GT has finished being released and DBZ is finishing too. Also for the first time here, the movies will start being released from August 31th with a new release every two weeks and after finishing the movies they will release the first series too, so we get the complete set.

How are the Greek releases availble?

as far as i know, we got releases of

*VHS with episodes of the The Prototype Mexican Dub of Dragonball (the one based on the Harmony Gold Version).
*The Merged Harmony Gold Version of DB movies 1 & 3 with the prototype mexican dub (named, Zero y el Dragon) on VHS.
*the individual releases of the 3 DB Movies, with the "Standard" Mexican Dub on VHS.
*VHS releases of DBZ movies 3 & 8.
*Individual Ports of the "Season Sets/Orange Bricks" of the Saiyan Saga with the UUE Covers, (with the spanish DUb, the US Dub and the Japanese Dub and in croped 16:9) and released by Paramount and Funimation.
*Petty DVD sets of the Entire DBZ series released by Zimma Entertaiment that looked like bootlegs, using the crappy old Televisa masters, many episodes sandwiched in one disc, and probably censored. (seriously, i saw those at blockbuster of my country and they looked like 1st generation Hong Kong Bootlegs, and they expect us to combat piracy by buying these official releases?).

I actually can't find anything Dragonball on their website. I know there was some company that released part of it, and the listing for those DVD's were on their website, but I don't remember if it was Zima or not.

The Greek DBZ dub's script is fairly accurate to the original (I'm half fluent in the language so I can tell), but the voices are absolutely craptastic. There are about five people altogether doing the ADR, and characters like Piccolo and Vegeta have modulated voices to ineffectively hide this. Seriously, they sound like automatons. It's grating. I would even say FUNimation's DBZ dub is superior.



The DVDs are quite hard to find, however. I haven't seen them pop up on any online auction sites, so they must be out of print or something.

New DVDs are available every two weeks on kiosks. The script is good but the voices aren't. Vegeta and Piccolo as they are aliens, they got a voice with computer edit. But the Greek Dragonball dub is something enjoyable from everyone in here because it contains all of our memories. The Z dub may be crap but the first series' and GT's dubs are accurate and with great voice actors.

Yeah, but the Greek dub is the only dub that modulated Piccolo's and Vegeta's voices to the extent of making them sound like robots. All the other dubs felt that they didn't need to.

But the Greek Dragonball dub is something enjoyable from everyone in here because it contains all of our memories.

I'm not really understanding what you're trying to say here that well. Are you saying that you enjoy the Greek dub because it's nostalgic for you? If so, nostalgia clouds people's judgement on things. For example, I think Final Bout is a good game.

The Z dub may be crap but the first series' and GT's dubs are accurate and with great voice actors.

I thought the Greek GT dub wasn't much better, IMO. I haven't seen any of the Greek Dragon Ball dub, though

P.S. Easter eggs aren't bad things. They're neat hidden messages or features in games, movies, T.V shows, etc.

I really wish there was some solid info on wtf is up with Mexican dub. The original site on the back of that release no longer lists anything DBZ. It used to last time I looked at it, but now it looks mostly like they just do documentaries. I'm still mind-fucked as to that release's existence/rights.

It looks like there are DVD's for quite a few parts of the series, but then some of the listings look sketchy, saying things like they have the Japanese track on them as well. Which I thought they didn't put on there and that it was single language only... I really can't tell, so... I'm just going to say they're all bootlegs. =D

I notice Canada is conspicuously absent from the list. We get the same product the United States gets, whether it is manga or DVD/Blu-ray. I may be mistaken, but I believe the Viz manga is even printed in Canada. I know the North American Shonen Jump is.
