Every stage was a planet stage.

I think since we got PTETSS this time around, they would save the Jump Special characters for the third one, see as the main villian was a giant.

An entire game based solely on the Jump special would be pretty dumb seeing as it's run-time is like half an hour and there's only one fight.

And what the hell is a peddlestool?

You just got learned.

That game would only have like 15 characters if they did that.

Not its own game entirely. My thought was something like including it on Raging Blast 3 for an arc in the storymode.

I say they might as well squeeze it in on RB2, there are only 3 "fights".

Son Goten, Trunks vs. Abo, Kado
Gotenks vs. Aka
Son Goku vs. Aka

Instead of pallete swaps, RB2 should just have color edit mode like KOF and Guilty Gear.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I'm sure they would find a way to add in Krillin, Yamcha, and everyone else who helped deflect rubble.

I'm almost 100% sure if they added that movie, they would add in Tarble. I can't WAIT to hear his dub voice; as long as it isn't whiny like kid Gohan. They would probably show him fighting Abo and Kado in some sort of flashback.

His dub voice should be the dub kid vegeta if there was one.

As I much as I hate being realistic on the Daizex forums, I don't think characters from the Jump Special will be included. I mean, it was a twenty minute obscure special with like two fights altogether.

If they really want to advertise the game like the Tenkaichi series as being with the biggest character roster + never before seen characters, they would be wise to include the characters from the Jump Special in one of the sequels. Also, it would bring more money on the table, as more people would be interested. And it would be cool.

I'm really excited about the new special though. Cannot wait. I'm thinking of getting a PS3 next month, so Raging Blast 2 will probably be the first next-gen DBZ game I play. :P Funny, the same happened with the Tenkaichi series, I started with 2...

Because bringing in an obscure character like Hatchiyack who hadn't really been seen in over a decade made much more sense than using characters from a modern special? I fail to see the logic. I'm not complaining about his inclusion, but the fact that they picked him and are reanimating his special seemed like an off the wall idea compared to picking characters from a special that was manufactured in this decade that the next generation can identify with.

A N.E.S game, two official releases, a CD release, two more games and a re-release on the Dragon Boxes, versus a short, twenty minute special that received an extremely limited official release.

33 minute special.

Yes it had multiple releases, inside Japan, what has it seen in terms of release outside its country of origin? The Jump special had a limited DVD release in Japan, yes, but it had a world wide premier when it was streamed online. Even those in the US had a chance to legally watch it subbed, so in general the potential audience was much larger. Spike is developing their game for a worldwide audience, and while they may primarily listen to Japanese fans, it makes more sense to use characters from a special the world has seen compared to ones from a special/game/etc that only Japan should have for the most part, at least IMO.

He doesn't look the type to have a small raspy voice like Kid Vegeta already had. I was thinking more like a 'smaller version' of adult Gohan, but that may be becasue they look alike.

So here are some random thoughts I've been having:

We typically learn about any respective upcoming game's theme song a few months before its release. For the original Raging Blast in 2009, we learned about Hironobu Kageyama's "Progression" in a Jump scan that July (the game was released in November, the relatively-consistent time frame for the franchise's major console game releases for years... with the exception of Burst Limit, which came out in June 2007, though you could argue that METEOR was the "major" release that year... and speaking of which...). Digging back a couple years earlier, the same thing happened with Sparking! METEOR -- we learned about "Super Survivor" in July for the game's October release.

We are heading into September 2010, with Raging Blast 2 due out in early November. There has not been a single peep about a new song. Any trailer seen for the game so far features some generic guitar rock; trailers for previous games have started featuring the game's theme song at this point along the way in their life cycle.

The wording for Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans has been pretty vague. I could be entirely wrong, but I would not be surprised to see the feature take the "place" of what would normally be an "opening" to the game -- that is to say, it may auto-play the feature after the initial opening studio credits (and probably have an option to watch it from the regular menu screens, too).

I'm getting pretty concerned that we won't actually be getting a new vocal theme this time around. In terms of console games, we've had an opening "theme song" dating all the way back to the PS1 era, and all with vocals since Final Bout. Some games here and there may have recycled older songs (the first DBZ/Budokai, Sparking! and Sparking! NEO, for example)... but they've always been there in some capacity.

Anyone else have any random thoughts or concerns about this stuff? Or is it just me who's year-after-year waiting to toss my money at Kageyama? Then again, we're not even talking about a CD single release, and I'm no longer even worrying that Kageyama has been shoved aside with all the Kai hotness -- we're talking about a song existing for the game at all. :(

I would hate to feel 'cheated' out of a new opening song; I'm not much for soundtracks but DBZ games have had a few great ones. An entire 30 minute opener is far too long for my tastes. The special should come after that. Was there any music in the OVA?

I have been thinking about the opening theme, fear not in that you are alone on that. I do recall wording that the OVA would act as a sort of opening to the game...maybe such is true? As such, my hope would be that Cha La (2005) is at least used, maybe reanimated as it was for Heya!! Son Gokû and Friends Return but to fit the current time period? Then again, it might be just as easy for them to reuse their 'new hotness' that is Dragon Soul (fourth animation).

This makes me want to transition over to the actual background music. Will we see a repisal of the Keiju Ishikawa score for the special and special-related stages? Will it just use the music of whoever composes the game? Will it use Kai music? Or, Lord smile upon us, will it use Kikuchi's score?
