Agreed. They used up their energies in battle.Kaboom wrote:It's most likely he reverted to SSj1 for a moment before restoring his Ki.
FPSSJ is the same aura as SSJ-G3. SSJ2 is that specific aura with lightning. So why is Gohan SSJ against Dabura? Remember that Dabura is only as powerful as Cell, whom even SSJ Goku could fight. SSJ2 would only be needed to dominate a fight against someone that powerful.

Re: Translations?
Well, like I said at the end of my last post, the possibility of Gohan being unable to surpass even his SSJ1 power due to his mindset is a possibility that I perfectly admit.Godo wrote:
And why is the manga fully correct (please read this too, Rereboy)?
I wasn't talking about the bolts exclusively. The shape of Gohan's aura is the one of a SSJ1. We have never, ever seen someone as a SSJ2 with that shape of their aura, only people as SSJ1.
You can see someone with the SSJ2 aura shape as a SSJ1 though, that is; at FPSSJ, USSJ and USSJ2.
But the fact remains that only a SSJ1 has that particular shape of the aura.
Toriyama drew Gohan as a regular SSJ, not a SSJ2, and no mistake has happened here.
I really don't know why Gohan didn't use the SSJ2 against Dabra, but get over the fact that he used SSJ2, since he didn't.
However, that possibility creates some inconsistencies like Gohan being able to fight Dabura with his SSJ1 state when Goku used his SSJ2 power to kill Yakon, or how Gohan was able to pull out the Z sword with only his SSJ1 power when the Kaioshins had all failed, or even the fact that Kaioshin stated to Kibito that Kibito had not seen how great Gohan was, when he had seen him turn SSJ2 at the tournament, even though he had not seen him fight.
My opinion covers pretty much all this by suggesting that Gohan was simply not using his SSJ2 power properly, even though he was technically at SSJ2 range of power. It doesn`t really explain what you pointed about his aura, I admit I hadn`t even noticed that, but it does cover more inconsistencies, in my opinion, than simply considering him as a SSJ1 covers. And that`s why I prefer it.
But like I said, I perfectly admit that possibility.
Re: Translations?
Goku asploding Yakon with SSj2 power was major overkill.rereboy wrote:However, that possibility creates some inconsistencies like Gohan being able to fight Dabura with his SSJ1 state when Goku used his SSJ2 power to kill Yakon,
Who said the other Kaioshin even tried? I think this has been addressed in something recent. Regardless, the current Kaioshin himself certainly isn't necessarily stronger than SSj Gohan.or how Gohan was able to pull out the Z sword with only his SSJ1 power when the Kaioshins had all failed,
That line specifically is nonsense either way. Because even with your "weakened SSj2" idea, it would still mean that Gohan was displaying more power at the tournament and thus Kibito really HAD witnessed Gohan's power. Otherwise, the best explanation I can think of is that Kibito hadn't seen Gohan actually fight, which is what Kaioshin meant.or even the fact that Kaioshin stated to Kibito that Kibito had not seen how great Gohan was, when he had seen him turn SSJ2 at the tournament, even though he had not seen him fight.
Most signs just point to Kaioshin and Kibito both just sucking at measuring Ki, though.

Re: Translations?
It was necessary for Goku to go SSJ2 to make Yakon explode from eating too much energy.Kaboom wrote:

Granted, he could have easily defeated Yakon another way without using his SSJ2, but to kill Yakon in that fashion, SSJ2 was necessary.
I think Dabura is much more powerful than Yakon and if it takes SSJ2 energy to make Yakon explode from the inside out, then a SSJ1 should not be able to fight well against a Dabura that is trying to hurt that said SSJ1 to give energy to Buu, especially considering that Goku said that Dabura was about Cell`s power and then he corrected himself stating that Dabura was even better than he though (during the fight with Gohan).
I just don`t think it makes much sense. Gohan should have had much more trouble if he was just using his SSJ1.
I find it hard to believe that in 15 generations of Kaioshins (since the Elder Kaioshin is the Kaioshin from 15 generations ago) not one of the Kaioshins who tried to pull the sword was as strong as SSJ1 buu saga Gohan, especially considering that East Kaioshin was stronger or about as strong as Piccolo and he was the weakest Kaioshin of his generation. I just find that very hard to believe, to the point that its not even logical.Kaboom wrote: Who said the other Kaioshin even tried? I think this has been addressed in something recent. Not really. Yes, I agree that Kaioshin and Kibito can`t read Ki as well as Goku and the others, there are various examples of this, but there are two different situations here:Kaboom wrote:

- One, Kaioshin read Gohan`s SSJ2 power and then saw him fight as a SSJ1 and thought that he was even better that he previously thought.
- Two, Kaioshin read Gohan`s SSJ2 power and then saw him fight at a power close to his SSJ2 but not as good as it should be because of his mindset and thought that he was even better that he previously thought.
In both these situations Kaioshin underestimated Gohan`s power when he read it at the tournament. But the first situation is a complete and inexcusable lack of judgment and skill in power reading. It doesn`t make sense to me that Kaioshin can read powers that poorly.
Yes, he was worried about Babidi`s minions, but that was because they were powered by magic and he knew how treacherous Babidi was and he also hadn`t seen or read Goku`s and Vegeta`s unsuppressed powers (namelly their SSJ levels and powers), he had only seen and felt their suppressed base power, so naturally he was worried about them fighting alone and entering the ship that had Dabura and Babidi`s traps in it. That is natural. Stating the first situation isn`t. But stating the second however is understandable considering that its true that Kaioshin can`t read and analyze powers as well as Goku and the others.

Re: Translations?
That surely isn't the case. Going from being labeled by Piccolo to be leagues ahead of him, able to hold SSJ2 Gohan power and doing as good or better than Gohan against Majin Buu he surely isn't weaker than Super Saiyan Gohan.Kaboom wrote:Regardless, the current Kaioshin himself certainly isn't necessarily stronger than SSj Gohan.
Then you have the fact South Kaioshin boosted Majin Buu power from normal SSJ3-tier to above fusion SSJ3-tier, which is pretty much another Super Saiyan 3 multiplier between the two.

I don't see what that image proves at all. Obviously, Goku and Vegeta powered down to Super Saiyan 1 because they weren't having a fierce battle at the moment. In any case , there are no examples of a Super Saiyan 2 having a regular Super Saiyan aura for an entire battle. One piece of evidence proving that Gohan was a regular Super Saiyan when fighting Dabra: When Kaioshin starts freaking out about Boo's energy meter being full, wondering how it could have happened so quickly, Gohan says it's because his dad and Vegeta are fighting at the level beyond Super Saiyan! But... what sense does that make, if Gohan and Dabra were also just fighting at a level of power beyond Super Saiyan?!

Isn't that obvious? There isn't one piece of dialogue that implies Gohan was Super Saiyan against Dabra.

Re: Translations?
Um, what Chibi mentioned clearly implies otherwise. It has nothing to do with what Bobbidi stated. Gohan attributes the meter filling up due to two levels beyond Super Saiyan 2 clashing. You know what that implies? Gohan and Dabra weren't fighting at levels beyond Super Saiyan. If Gohan and Dabra were clashing at levels beyond Super Saiyan, it diminishes the importance of the statement.

Re: Translations?
Its stated more than once that the meter only filled up when the fighters lost energy due to damage received. Gohan and Dabura received virtually zero damage in their fight, unlike Goku and Vegeta.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:Um, what Chibi mentioned clearly implies otherwise. Yeah, it received no damage because they were terribly weak.

Unlike Vegeta, Goku's SSJ2 hair is easily distinguishable, he didn't revert, not even when unconscious.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote: I don't see what that image proves at all. If you're judging SSJ forms exclusively by aura, that means you'd never be able to know when a Super Saiyan 2 had a SSJ1 aura, let alone accept it. Just take look at what you did recently; you're shown evidence of a supposed SSJ2 Vegeta with a normal SSJ aura, and you immediately rationalize that he reverted, despite there being no proof of him doing so. Whenever a Super Saiyan 1 is abundantly weakened and/or suppressed they normally don't have auras, so him being SSJ1 isn't really supported from that regard either.

The differences in damage between those two battles, probably already goes without saying. If we were look at it in greater detail though, even if Gohan fought as a SSJ1 and Dabura was supposed to be around Cell's level of power, Gohan still would have taken damage from Dabura's magic attack, which was clearly a powerful one. The fact that he didn't, definitely doesn't suggest that he was a Super Saiyan 1 that was supposed to have been weaker than his former self. He could very well have been using Super Saiyan 2 and held a higher battle power than Dabura; which would account for the durability.

What sense does that make? If Goku went Super Saiyan 3 against Vegeta and dodge all his attacks the meter won't fill too. Or are you saying weak people can't be damaged? Um, Gohan didn't dodge all of his attacks. We actually see him get hit with a fireball, yet there's no real damage, and the meter barely fills. Oh, and the battle had already been taking place once the Manga went right to it. Saying Gohan dodged all of his attacks is an assumption.

Still you said yourself, neither Gohan or Dabra are damaged. That way the meter cannot be filled, thus why Babidi was getting upset towards Dabra.

Re: Translations?
Goku implies Gohan used up a lot of power in his fight against Dabura as he hands him the senzu bean.
The only way I could see his implication hold is if Gohan took a good deal of damage in his fight, thus losing power.
The meter simply didn't raise up enough because Dabura and Gohan's attacks weren't powerful enough for considerable SSJ2+ tier damage. The more power you have the more damage you can dish out, meaning the more quicker and easier the meter fills up.

Receiving damage isn't the only way to lose energy. Since Babidi points out that Dabura wasn't inflicting enough damage and Gohan lacked any visible injury, all signs indicate that Gohan's energy depletion was due to an issue with his stamina.
